Motzei Shabbos Behaloscha 5780 News Updates Lakewood

-10 new Cases in Lakewood total 2491/171
-NJ 523 new cases and 103 deaths as the state begins phase 2 of reopening on Monday

-Trump is at his home in Bedminster NJ Gov Murphy was a guest for Dinner Friday night.

-Agudah: We respect that Governor Cuomo is forced to make difficult decisions in these difficult times. But his mantra has been to follow the data, follow the science, and follow the law.
Sadly, his decisions regarding overnight summer camps and religious practices fall far short of this ideal.

In light of today’s development, Agudath Israel and other summer camp representatives will consider whatever remaining options may be available to them.

-Assembly man Simcha Eichtenstein:
“We will not allow the Governor’s disastrous decision making to impact the wellbeing of our children,” said the assemblyman. “It is easy to hand out orders from the Governor’s Mansion, but if that is your decision, what is your solution Governor? What is your plan for the thousands of young adults who will be roaming the streets in boredom over the summer months? I refuse to accept a state of chaos and disarray over the next couple of months. I will continue to explore other options for our children so that they can enjoy the upcoming summer months, with safety as our number one priority, including sleepaway camp in other states who have already been approaching us.”

  1. All talk, and no action. Neither Aguda nor Eichenstein will take the governor to court. And aguda was silent on shul closures yet makes noise about camps because they own a few and need the money.

    1. You're looking for scapegoats. In truth, Cuomo has become a total dictator tyrant, and there's very little Agudah or Eichenstien can do.

    2. No, Aguda did not protest yeshiva nor shul closings. They only made noise about camps. For the first few weeks they were kissing up to the governor. But when it was going to cost them money, then they opened their mouth.

  2. Agudah put out statements against chasidim who opened school in Williamsburg and went to a levaya now they are upset at the gov because there's no camp.

    1. They aren't upset about camp, they're upset about the lost revenue.

  3. Before you all bash and slander the Agudah on their "caring about camps and not shuls", read the actual letter.
They wrote against the governor on the hypocrisy on the religious aspect as well.

  6. As predicted, Cuomo got back at the chasidim for disobeying his orders on not opening shuls. Now we are all suffering.

  7. It does cost them alot more to get the kids to NH than to thw catskills but they should be glad theyre opening and not having to redund all that money and take a loss. Camp is extremely expensive as it is. Besides i thought i saw somewhere that Louis Scheiner picked up the tab for moving the camp to NH so why the $250 charge?? The kids need it so badly people are have a hard time with parnassah please have rachmanus!!!!

    1. It's a sakana physically only for Frum kids? Millions survive the summer in the city every year.

    2. Seriously!!! The last 3 months with the kids not learning was a much bigger sakana. The truth is that parents don’t no how to parent and went through gehenim the last 3 months so they are fighting to get a break.

  9. Agudah made camp a public issue and cuomo had to show that hes boss. It should have been dealt with quietly and not go down a road that has no return

  10. there aren't simple solutions to very difficult situations. the governor and his officials will face critics on both sides whichever decision they make. and the reality is that IT IS FULL OF NEGATIVES in either case. many might not agree or like the verdict but we should try to understand the grave situation rather than bash.

  11. OILEM WAKE UP!!! All the people and organizations that you have been led to believe have "PULL" in the politicians, all the "honor" that we given them at dinners or seumim have accomplished nothing.
We have no legal minyanim, yeshivas or camp.
So who are you going to rely on??? Only one, the RIBONO SHEL OILEM!! We need to do rotzoin hashem!!
Did we change since the beginning of this gezairo?! Do we belong here in USA? Yes, we have been treated well but we are still in GALUS! GALUS with rioting, gay marriage, no religious gatherings. We cant rely on anyone except AVINU SHEBASHAMYIM!
Time to strongly consider moving to Eretz Hakodesh.
