The Satmar community of Lakewood has leased a building for its elementary schools. The building is located at 5 Airport rd corner Cedarbridge avenue in the industrial park. The property and neighboring lot was sold last year and currently houses the law offices of Bathgate and company.
LNN reports the large building will accommodate boys and girl schools on separate sides of the building.
Boys and girls in ONE building!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Rebbe ZYA is very not happy with this.
The Satmar school system in Brooklyn used to be in the same square block, opening to opposite sides of the block. In Chicago, a school decided to do the same, figuring that if it is good enough for Satmar, it is good enough for them. When the Satmar Rav heard this, he decided that he had to change his schools.
ReplyDeleteWhat would he say about this?
Igrot Moshe also says can't be in same neighborhood (of course, in certain areas today, competing boys and girls school in same neighborhoods.)
