The cash toll for the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge Brooklyn to Staten Island will increase from $17 to $19 if you don't have EZ pass and pay the toll by mail. Silive.com reports The E-ZPass rate will increase from $11.52 to $12.24. It will go into effect March 31, 2019. The Bridge has no cash toll booths and all cash payments are done by mail.
The Staten Island Resident E-ZPass (three or more trips per month) rate will increase from $6.48 to $6.88. The Staten Island Resident E-ZPass (two or more trips per month) rate will increase from $6.84 to $7.26.
In order for the effective toll for Staten Island residents to remain at $5.50, the Staten Island Resident Rebate Program will need an additional $6 million in state funding. Without additional funding, the effective toll for Staten Island residents will increase to $5.90.
The MTA made no mention of whether or not the Staten Island Resident Carpool HOV E-ZPass rate of $3.20 will increase or remain the same.
The approved toll increases will take effect on March 31.

If you have NJ E-ZPass do you still pay the cheaper rate? I think you pay the cash price.
ReplyDeleteYes. You can register for a ny ezpass with nj address though. If you drive without an ezpass transponder (or disconnect it ) but your car is registered on both ny and nj accounts, it will deduct your ny accoubt for the cheaper price.
