This morning's carpool to Day camp to over 45 minutes. Traffic around Lakewood was horrible the main thoroughfares were backed up Cedarbridge, New Hampshire James, Pine, County line and of course good ol Rt 9. There was construction on James and on Cedarbridge. Can the Township officials arrange for construction to take place off peak and not in the busy morning rush or when everyone is going to work or driving kids to camp.
Give a thanks to Hashem that he gave our town so many children bli ayin hora
ReplyDeleteexcellent comeback
DeleteWhy would one need a comeback for post that is merely stating a fact. One needs a "comeback" when he is personally attacked, so I would assume that the one who posted this "comeback" is either on the Township boards, or committees' or else is a builder.
DeleteThe fact is, the community can have just as many children, but have normal zoning laws, spread them out a little more into surrounding towns, stop advertising for entire communities from NY to move here, and life would be a lot less stressful.
Large families, and a functional town are not mutually exclusive.
Road work needs to wait till off peak hours... They start at 9.
ReplyDeleteIf we had 1.2 kids and a dog like the typical American families ,we wouldn't have any traffic. Boruch Hashem we have large families and have traffic. Its like the guy who complains that he pays too much in income taxes. Bottom line he makes a lot of money so he has a tax problem so don't complain.
ReplyDeletePeople who lived in Lakewood 20 years ago also had large families, and no, the traffic in Lakewood is not because of their children, it is because of irresponsible zoning laws.
DeleteStop trying to deflect from the traffic issue. This towns infrastructure is not up to date. The roads can't handle the traffic. It has nothing to do with klal Yisrael having many children bh.
ReplyDeleteIs it better for kids to sit in a car 2 hours a day? Or for parents to show up late to work and lose money because of greedy developers and poor planning?
And corrupt politicians
DeleteWhat happened to busses? Why are parents dropping their children off by camp themselves?
ReplyDeleteI understand, money. But, when I was in daycamp in Brooklyn, included in the camp fee was bussing, and all trips, etc. Why isn't it the same here?
When I was a kid, the camps cost a fraction of what they cost now, even adjusted for inflation. the camps go on a lot of expensive trips, driving up the costs.
DeleteBecause many parents want to save the 75 dollars and willingly sit in traffic to save that money.
ReplyDeleteThe reason for the traffic is that parents don't have money and want to save 75 dollars. If there was only buses to camp there wouldn't be any more traffic than a regular school day or even less
