Almost all girls have a school for coming year
Despite the vaad and other askanim taking credit, this year there was no real problem with girls not getting into school for primary. What has usually been a issue towards the end of the year, has now seemed to be rectified. Many factors contributed to this. First, many schools added classes to accommodate the growth, a few new girls schools are opening up for this coming school year. In addition, there may just not be that many girls entering primary as projected. Some kids may not be in school that is not a result of no room but parents simply holding out for the school of their choice. As for the boys many new chadorim have opened as well.

ReplyDeleteAccording to app, this is where our property taxes go:
ReplyDeleteCounty Municipal School
Lakewood 18% 33% 50%
Ocean County 23% 29% 48%
Statewide 18% 30% 52%
Lakewood's school percentage is not really that different from the county or state. It's our municipal share which is out of line.
Have we been barking up the wrong tree?
