- Lakewood zoning board meeting recap:

At last night's Zoning Board meeting, proceedings began late due to the lack of a quorum. With only five board members present, applicants were given the option to table their applications rather than proceed with a reduced board.
Several residents who spoke during the public comment portion expressed frustration that they were rushed by the chairman and were not given sufficient time to fully address concerns related to safety, privacy, traffic, and other quality-of-life issues.

An application to construct 66 duplexes off Cross Street, near the entrance to Eagle Ridge, was ultimately tabled following an extended back-and-forth discussion. A large group of senior residents attended the meeting to voice their concerns during public comment. The application is expected to return to the board at its July 6 meeting.

The board approved an application on Prospect Street after the applicant agreed to reduce the project from 16 duplexes to 14. The developer also agreed to reserve the eliminated building site for a future shul with 11 parking spaces. As a condition of approval, the board stipulated that the final duplex may not receive a certificate of occupancy until the shul is constructed. Neighbors raised privacy concerns because the development backs onto an existing community. The applicant agreed to plant 77 Green Giant trees along the property line, with the HOA responsible for maintenance and irrigation for two years.

The board also approved an application to construct four apartment buildings off Route 70, containing a total of 35 two-bedroom units. During the hearing, a resident questioned why the project was not subject to an age restriction, citing language in the township master plan and concerns about the suitability of family housing along a busy highway corridor. The board attorney responded that the project did not require a variance from the master plan's provisions.

  2. As natural gas gets cheaper the Dems are pushing to require all electric in new construction. Somehow the party that promises to be for the people continually makes it worse for them, and the people stupidly continue to vote for them.

  3. again the Zionists are putting us Torah talmidim in jail for the crime of learning Torah, this is the groysa achievement of the "Jewish state", every tisha bav i add my own kinnus for the getchka created in Iyur 1948, woe is us.

    1. They're in jail for refusing leHitgayess. Just like any country like the US, UK, Holland, Ukraine , Russia.
Maybe you want to go to Iran, where you'll get the military exemption you want?

    2. Many countries have exemptions for active students. There always was a dichuy for yeshiva students, and that has been removed. The chief court ruled that everyone is equal - except arabs are still exempt. This is an attempt at shmadt and not about manpower. During earlier wars even yerushalmis in meah shearim were given weapons and protected their lines. We have no problem protecting our country.

Arabs shouldn't be a consideration. They don't count for many other things.
If there was a real bonafide jewish form of State, without hedonist secularists driving it,would you & your family be prepared to serve?
Combat them on their own terms

    4. Actually the many countries are getting rid of dichuyim.
And a dichuy means 1-2 maybe three years, not automatically renewable.
And when they're renewed for political reasons, you open yourself up to other politics, like the Supreme Court (yes that's politics too.). Yes, I'm against Supreme Court getting involved in politics, but they do.
And when other bnei turah on the mizrachi side are giving up their lives and their work and their businesses and most important, their families, you don't have the moral high road. (Yes, to you that's not Torah, but that's a fallacy to justify your politics. Just like the yerushalmim who took up arms against the Arabs. For example, Rav Chaim z"l.

    5. The US Supreme Court may overstep its boundaries. Sometimes. But perfection is not the goal.
The Israeli Supreme Court is untenable; it has no boundaries at all and works actively against the people in the country. It must be torn down and replaced with something that can exist among people.

    8. 4:28 -- there is a proposal to reform the Israeli Supreme Court. But the liberals are crying is not democratic!
It involves direct elections by the Knesset to Supreme Court, just like in America (and UK, for that matter.). The current system involves committee controlled by current Supreme Court members, hardly democrtaic. The libs forced Pres Biden to oppose it, even though ....

    9. Anything that reforms the supreme Court in Israel - is the definition of democratic. As they are the front for the deep state. Of course all the decent people opposing them are 'evil'
Not to mention that whatever progress is made in that front, just at the worst possible moment The charedim warning about the supreme Court more than anybody either lose interest like you guys or worse turn around and backstab them

  5. maybe just maybe the Dati leumi/hesder are starting to see that the Zionists shmad is the sole goal of the IDF and use them as fodder, maybe maybe they will join us in the Torah camp and not serve the Zionists?

    2. Newsflash the dati leumi are the Zionists! They’re worse than the non religious they twist the Torah into there perverted religion of Zionism.
These dati leumi Zionists share the same religion of Zionism with the evangelical Christian’s both want to shmad yidden rch”l

    3. Newsflash
Dati Leumi is a very broad brush. There are those who are indeed as bad as you state.
There are many in the middle.
Then there is a significant presence on the other side, who are more righteous than 90% of the charedi world. We don't need to agree on every nitty-gritty detail with them. But they'll fight for Shamayim more than you and probably most anyone you know.
Noam is the most religious party in the knesset.
My blessing to you and your family is for you join them.

    4. 9:08 you’re wrong it’s not a nitty gritty it’s a basic Jewish hashkafa they don’t believe in. They don’t believe the Torah alone is what makes us a nation they believe it’s Torah with the land of eretz Yisroel. That belief is kefirah I don’t care how religious you think they are they’re not any better than the nuns who are very religious as well.
They and the nuns practice a different religion than me. There religion is Zionism and that religion is anti Semitic religion it was created to destroy Judaism by replacing it with zionism

    5. 6:38

WHAT religion you practice?Any connection with the rest of us?
      Spell it out for us
Tell us how it is different than any group of secular exclusive academics busy with texts, who expect the rest of the world to kiss their toes just because? Is it for to gain your place in this world only or explain to us what it has with the next?

    6. 12:33pm,
      Well put.
      6:38am,
You mentioned Judaism.Could you offer to specify some details re: what it does & doesn't contain?

    7. Anon 12:33aka1:04 it’s a real nebach the way you talk ,your hate for yiddeshkeit is palpable.
Believing that being a Jew is anything other than accepting the Torah on Mt Sinai is heresy. Believing the Jewish nation is a nation defined other than a people practicing the Torah is heresy. The Dati leumi and apparently you as well believe that there are other factors as well to being a Jew. For the DL it’s the land of Israel and Jews are just like any other nation that is made up of a land language (and culture )

    8. 1:57
Precisely.Thanks. You were unable tell us what the word Torah.. because
you really don't know what it contains, much of what it's supposed to be about, and since you and others like you it's just now a word that has been tragically rendered nearly without any meaning. Except for those shout it in public.
Like a non-orthodox congregation tells their Rabbi he can't speak about Shabbos or mitzvos instead he should speak Tora
      Or to be used l'kanter.
These people you keep barking at actually live Torah .For real.
You don't need to agree with everything they do, and we could frankly acknowledge they allowed themselves to be been gullible for too long re: the state apparatus and those insidious DL who actually are the enemy
They are still more advanced than you and closer to in terms of Torah
