They argue that many families are choosing urgent care centers or home-visit services for convenience rather than consulting their child's regular pediatrician. According to the authors, this can result in: Misdiagnoses,Unnecessary testing and treatments, Incomplete medical records, Different providers treating the same child without knowledge of prior history, Missed serious medical conditions.
A  consistent relationship with a primary pediatrician generally leads to safer and more effective care than relying on multiple urgent care or home-visit providers.

  1. So AI was used. "the only use of ai was as a technical production tool during portions of the graphic rendering process, where it assisted the design team in enhancing visual quality and visual effects."

    1. We now have a Hetter! Basically AI was used when it was helpful. As we go on it will be more and more helpful in more and more areas in our life enjoy! It is only prohibited when unhelpful or downright destructive! It's Kedai do it!

I don't know if the organizers of the AI Asifos read these comments, but this story should underscore the danger of saying that all AI is assur. Obviously some (like spell check, spam filters, and Waze) is not. If they don't start clarifying, they are going to look silly.

The unfiltered AI hotlines are bad, the people asking AI for advice should be warned, and the "generative AI" kills creativity and industriousness. That is what the Asifos should be about.

    3. Correct sadly this has been the legacy of the anti-technology crowd since it's inception they've been one day late and prohibited everything with a broad brush with a total lack of nuance and clarity. And eventually technology surpassed their rules which were and their words totally forbidden for example we all remember when texting and having a home internet was forbidden...... Even with a filter (if you don't remember go back and read the proclamations) How suddenly does it become okay?? So why should I trust you now??

    4. This aboslutely used generative AI. Do they even know what generative means?

  2. The article against urgent care was with negius. It could be that equal to the times the pcp caught something that urgent care missed, so it is vice versa. Plenty of kids were misdiagnosed by their primary doctor only to have a great diagnostician at an urgent care catch it. This even includes cancer caught very early for a teen by an urgent care doctor.

    1. From the article:
"We know some people reading this may say we are just trying to knock the competition. If you want to believe that, go ahead. As doctors who have dedicated our lives to caring for the children of Lakewood and the surrounding towns, we are speaking out because we are concerned.
We don't care if you are a patient of Pediatric Affiliates or of any of the other fine pediatric offices in town. We just want to ensure that all the children in our community are getting the very best care possible."

    2. I'm not sure how it's better to see a different PA, NP or (even a Dr. once in a while) at established practices.

      Delete
    3. You can't get a appointment at the pediatrician. what are people supposed to do when they kid has fever?
Wait 3-4 days or go right away to an urgent care

      Delete
    4. Again from the article: "Even if the child did not always see the same practitioner within the pediatric office, the child's medical record would be easily accessible for any practitioners in that practice, which would help a practitioner guide any decisions that needed to be made that day. If a patient needed to be seen by a specialist, a referral would be made, and the specialist would send a report of his findings, which would then be entered into the child's medical record." If anyone would like to read the article before commenting, it's available at https://thevoiceoflakewood.com/convenient-care-comes-at-a-cost/

    5. Why would you expect anything different in the voice article Dr heimowitz said that he originally did not allow unvaccinated patients to join his practice quite understandable since he is pro vax then it became difficult financially so now he allows them. So basically the dollar has the last word. It's okay for a business but don't get up on a pedestal and preach

  3. That disclaimer thinks we're dumb. I personally don't see an issue with their use of AI. But don't call me dumb. The more words you use, the more obvious that you are trying to cver someting up.

    1. Adirei should stop trying to defend what they do. Yes they are raising money for youngeleit in BMG but they are a different entity who don't do everything hashkaficlklly the BMG way. So instead of trying to פארענטפער everything why they do this and that with singers websites AI videos Balei batim fressing sushi and meats and drinking in the VIP boxes. Just keep quiet and keep doing what you do. We understand this is how you do and this is what you feel is needed to raise the money.

    2. It is impossible to separate a Yeshiva from its money. If an institution does treifa things for money, the institutions is treif.

  4. Imagine if 10% of the 144 million to keren olam would go to pay tuitions in Lakewood that's 14 million right there

    ReplyDelete

    1. The you wouldn't have the zchus of paying for your child's chinuch. I can't afford it so I don't pay full. And the gvirim donate to the school to make up the difference.

    2. The schools raised tuition to unaffordable for the middle class there's a reason why tuition balances are unpaid this year.

    3. Thanks to Torah Umeaorah for empowering the schools to raise tuition on parents while the gevirim pose for photo op meetings

  5. To call that shameful embarassing attack on the home of the Supreme court justice a "demonstration" is itself shameful!

    1. Yeah, but he had it coming. It is embarrassing that people resort to any violence.

But Sohlberg began with the violence. He should stop whining about his plant pots and at the same time stop sending people to arrest yeshiva bochurim.

      Delete
    2. Sohlberg has his Mossad fellows knock out people in much more dangerous ways than a little demonstration. Typical whining Israel

      Delete
    3. Of course Sohlberg deserved it.
But we need to look at ourselves. Is this what we want from our chinuch? Do we want our bochurim using force to get what they deserve? Is a central part of our chinuch not eidelkeit and the life of ruchniyus?
If the bochurim were on a loft chashmonaim level, and would not enjoy these fights at all, we could discuss whether the judges deserve it.
But now that we know that not to be the case, the bochurim are not yet tzadikim gemurim, rather on the path to tzidkus, we must be careful not to awaken their bad middos. As they get used to demanding what is theirs with force, who knows how they will return?
In a sense, demonstrations are similar to the Army. Street people can go to the Army and return as they went. It is extremely rare to return from the Army ready to internalize the חיי הרוח of a Yeshivaman.

Aniyei ircha kodmin I understand includes aniyei eretz yisroel but it doesnt obsilve you of helping youe neighbors. You would be surprised how many people youre close to whether family friends neighbors or shul goers need your help!!! Open your eyes!!

    2. Go make your appeals for Lakewood Aniyim when Keren Olam HaTorah isn't in town. And don't give me the line with there is nothing left over because of them. All year round no one is screaming about helping Lakewood Aniyim . All the sudden when Keren Olam HaTorah is in town people claim to be be so worried about them...Had they not come no one would worrying about Lakewood Aniyim now either.

      Delete
    3. The issue is not with keren olam haTorah it's about the locals leaders pushing for it while doing nothing to help aniyei ircha
Same with the Schnall election rabbonim signed letters how important it is to vote because of tuition but nothing was done about easing the pain. They did nothing to help lower tuition costs.

      Delete
    4. Who is stopping you doing something for aniyei ircha? Get up and do something. There is plenty of money out there, get your hands on some of it for aniyim.

    2. You do know that Hashem made aniyim so that you can have the opportunity to give tzedakah! The more aniyim, the more schnorring, the more opportunities for you to give tzedakah.

    3. There is place for everybody but when you focus primarily on EY it is a tremendous problem. In EY night Kollelim shishi /shabbos kolleim are commonplace and being sponsored by people in United States here in Lakewood it's a rarity!? It's only one example. Our boys are going on "road trips" bein hazmanim when we all know how downright destructive that is but there is no money to invest in camps( it's primarily the capital investment which is prohibitive not running the camp which can be charged to the parents)gedolei yisrael after World War II when money was very scarce they were Moser nefesh to build camps . When you look around there are so many unaddressed needs in our community which would be taken care of if we would focus on them for a little bit.

    4. Who's stopping you from focusing on the local needs? Go for it, and we'll all appreciate it.

  13. You all missed the point. We're not screaming aniyei ircha when they come for keren olam hatorah We're trying to say that no one is looking after the aniyei ircha on a regular basis. We should support both. But you need to look for the aniyei ircha they need alot more than tomchei shabbos, tdl, etc etc. So many of them are embarrassed to ask amd are struggling terribly. The guy in shul you think is making it is probably not.
