A plan to lay off all 165 district teacher’s aides, known as paraprofessionals, to save more than $7 million has been put on hold as the Board of Education rejected the proposed 2026-27 school year budget.APP reports The board unanimously voted down the $313 million proposed spending plan at Wednesday night’s meeting, claiming the cutbacks would harm children and teachers.

- The terrorist who stabbed two Jews in the terror attack this week is Essa Suleiman. A Somali translator who has a history of violence, including stabbing two police officers and a police dog in 2008

- DOJ release video where The K9 detects the WHCD shooter Cole Allen and tries to follow him to another room. The handler pulls the K9 away. A second later, the shooter runs out of the same room with a rifle in his hand.

- New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill says redistricting is on the table to fight Trump. "We have some constitutional limitations on doing it immediately. We'd have to get some votes through, but I'd certainly be willing to work with the legislature to do that."

-A fatal single-vehicle crash in Jackson Township Thursday afternoon killed Ronald Miller, a township building inspector. Police said the crash occurred around 1:55 p.m. on South Cooksbridge Road near Westlake Boulevard, when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. He was pronounced dead at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus.
