Obituary of Dr. Vladimir “Zev” Zelenko

Dr. Vladimir “Zev” Zelenko, the man who discovered and implemented the treatment for Covid-19 that over the past two years has been responsible for saving millions of lives worldwide, has passed away after a long battle with cancer.  He was 48.

Born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1973, Zev’s family immigrated the United States in 1977 and settled in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York.

He attended Hofstra University where he earned with a B.S. in chemistry with high honors.  He then went on to the Buffalo School of Medicine where he earned his M.D. in 2000.

Zev had a family medical practice in Monroe, New York in 2020 during the onset of what would become the Covid-19 pandemic.  As a physician who masterfully combined the skills of both critical thinking and the scientific method, and who shaped their application out of his love for both God and patients, Zev was not content to sit back and wait for politicians or public health officials to settle upon a prescribed treatment path.  People were dying.  He began searching almost immediately for a method of treatment.

Aided by initiative, good fortune, and from his account divine intervention, he discovered such a treatment in combining Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), zinc, azithromycin, and other various drugs, especially steroids, and creating what has come to be known as the “Zelenko protocol.”  The key to the protocol was very early intervention to treat the virus inside the cellular level before it could break loose and develop into a full-blown respiratory disease.

Up to the time of his death, Zev had overseen the treatment of approximately 7,500 patients using his protocol and experienced only three patient deaths.  The use of the Zelenko protocol has spread worldwide.

While he was nominated along with other courageous doctors for a Nobel Prize in recognition of his groundbreaking treatment and outspoken advocacy on behalf of patients, for the most part Zev faced censorship and condemnation for his taking a bold stand against prevailing orthodoxy.  For whatever their motives, politicians and health officials worldwide attempted to either downplay or outright deny the efficacy of the Zelenko protocol and its simple, low-cost treatment path.  Numerous studies were constructed to deliberately hide the effectives of using HCQ (later ivermectin) in conjunction with other drugs.

There were even steps taken by politicians like then New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to forbid the use of HCQ in treating patients.  Social media platforms joined in the effort to silence Zev, with Twitter having famously banned him from the platform in late 2020.

As Voltaire said, “It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong.”

Despite numerous studies over the past two years that have supported the effectiveness of his protocol, access to the treatment remains denied to significant portions of the population and is simply ignored by many physicians.

Undeterred, Zev went in search of another method to treat patients that could circumvent government restrictions.  HE discovered that the natural supplement Quercetin could serve the same function as did HCQ in assisting zinc to attack the still developing virus inside the cell.  It was not as effective, but as Zev was fond of saying, “You don’t go to war with the army you wish you had.  You go to war with the army you’ve got.”  He discovery of Quercetin, which he likened to being a .22 caliber compared to HCQ’s .50 caliber ultimately led to the development of his Z-Stack supplement.

Over the past year-and-a-half, Zev has been an outspoken critic of the mRNA vaccine pointing to both its serious side-effects and its alteration of genetic code.  He has been especially critical of the use of the vaccine in children who are not old enough to give their own informed consent and who face virtually no risk of serious illness from Covid-19.  He has shared his views over a broad spectrum of web-based podcast interviews and at numerous live appearances across the country.  He has been routinely greeted with applause interruptions and standing ovations.

As to the rare form of cancer with which he was diagnosed in early 2018 and told of its 100 percent terminal prognosis, Zev repeatedly referred to it as having been a gift from God.  “My cancer is what prepared me for the Covid-19 pandemic,” He would say.  “Without it, I would not have developed my passion for searching for answers that others said couldn’t be found, and without it I could not have held to the persecution and ridicule I received for daring to treat patients.  I have looked death in the eye and I have been made ready to meet God.  I fear nothing on this earth.”

A man of profound faith, he believed until the end that God had created a special mission for him on this earth, and that the prayers of millions had kept him alive long enough to fulfill that mission.

Zev recently announced the formation of his new Z Freedom Foundation, dedicated to continuing his critical work.  He also announced the release of his memoirs, titled simply Zelenko, that will be available in late-summer to early fall 2022.

He is survived by his wife, Rinat, their two children, Shira and Liba, and six children from his previous marriage, Levi Yitzchok, Esther Tova, Eta Devorah, Nochum Dovid, Shmuel Nosson Yaakov, Menachem Mendel.  Also his parents, Alex (Aaron) and Larisa (Leah) and his brother Ephraim (w. Chany).

In his simple and beautiful poem, High Flight, WWII Canadian Air Force pilot John Gillespie Magee said that he put out his hand, “and touched the face of God.  For those who were blessed with having had a chance to cross paths, if even for a fleeting moment, with the remarkable man who was Vladimir “Zev” Zelenko, there is a sense of knowing that in this instance and with this soul, God simply could no longer wait to touch the face of the man who gave so much hope and so much life to so many during his time on His earth.

Memoriam can be given in Zev’s name to the Z Freedom Foundation at www.zfreedomfoundation.com

The United States Supreme Court today issued a landmark ruling that positively impacts religious schools’ ability to participate in state aid programs. The Court ruled that the First Amendment’s Free Exercise Clause prohibits states from discriminating not only against schools that identify as religious, but also those that actively teach religious subjects. Eretz Hakodesh of WZO Fails to Accomplish initial Mission

It has been a little over two years since the formation of the Eretz Hakodesh slate joining the WZO world zioninst organization. At the time leading up to the elections they  were targeting frum jews in the diaspora to sign up and vote, much convincing was needed. Eretz Hakodesh was formed with much controversy bucking a status quo bv all previous gedolim who held that one is not allowed to go ahead and join or participate in the world jewish congress.

The organizers said that it is a שעת השמד which calls for a time to break the long forbidden rule of התחברות לרשעים due to the threats coming from the reform movement on issues of yahadus such as giyur, kashrus and the kosel.

They promised that getting funding alone did not justify joining the WZO, neither making daily announcements about covid laws  which had not even begone when it was formed

Fast forward 2 years and Eretz Hakodesh can not take credit for accomplishing the very reason that justified their founding. As a matter of fact the current Israeli govt in the knesset is closer than ever to pass reforms on Giyur the kosel and all issues pertaining to the status quo of halacha. More so, the premise that stopping the funding from the reform will make a difference has proven to be wrong. No money in the world could stop Meretz, or yair Lapid from enacting their changes to satisfy their political base of רדיפת הדת or Avigdor Lieberman who represents hundreds of thousands of Russians many who are not jewish seeking a quick geirus to be considered Jews.
Instead, Eretz Hakodesh has embarked on a PR campaign taking out full page ads touting their accomplishments, the biggest one  for facilitating the entry into Israel of 50,000 students to study at Israeli yeshivos and seminaries  when the COVID-19 pandemic was still strong and restrictions were formidable.

Clearly that was not something that their platform was made for or their original mission. Secondly, other organizations could have done the same thing with some pull and protekzia of Knesset members. It did not justify their formation to break a status quo of all gedolei yisrael in the last millennia to make themselves the saviors of the yeshiva bochurim  or for seminary girls who there is definitely no obligation for them to go to Israel. The next big accomplishment they touted is the participation of 28,000 for chol hamoed concerts. Yes, that was the reason to go against the ruling of Rav Chaim brisker, the Chazon ish, rav Chaim Ozer, the chofetz Chaim the Brisker Rav, and Rav Elyashiv to sponsor a music event in yerushalayim on chol hamoed. The Rosh Yeshiva of Baltimore harav Aaron Feldman shlita said said bochurim should not attend the musical event sponsored by Eretz Hakodesh on Chol hamoed in order not to give eretz hakodesh the authority to represent yeshiva bochurim.

The next accomplishment they boast is "funding", something they said was not the reason that justifies their formation but who remembers that ,it was pre covid era.

This week Eretz Hakodesh got egg on their face after publicly welcoming the new head of the Jewish agency in Israel Mr. Doron Almog what a great choice he is. The first thing he did was attend a Reform Judaisim event and proudly disclose that he is a member of the reform movement to the dismay of Eretz Hakodesh.

After the great fanfare and campaign that was waged targeting frum Jews in the diaspora they have failed to show a single accomplishment that justified their existence and having people sign up declaring the Jerusalem program that Zionism is “the national liberation movement of the Jewish people” and  “the centrality of the State of Israel in the life of the nation.” . The gedolim called it kefira in Toras Moshe as it Omitted the belief in One Hashem and the Torah He gave us, and nothing else.

Instead of admitting a massive failure they just changed the mission.

Yated: Adir Bamarom Adirim B'tachtonim

Yated Neeman full coverage with lots of pictures of the Adirei Hatorah event emotional article:

 by Rabbi Mordechai Kamenetzky

Adir Bamarom Adirim B'tachtonim

There is a certain part of me that did not want to write this article.  I simply felt that by describing any aspect of the awesome event that occurred on Sunday night in an official capacity, would transform me from someone who was a true part of the experience into an objective observer who was recording events. I as he experienced them.

I was neither.  I was not an observer.  As much as I am removed from the world of daily Kollel life for more than 30 years I still feel a part of that world not as an observer but as a participant. I live that world, everyone my chiladren live that world, and I pray that my grandchildren will live it as well.  Thus, in participating a celebration acknowledging the greatness of the Adirei HaTorah, I certainly cannot say that I was objective. I was passionately and fervently participating, listening, embracing and cherishing every moment of the inspiring event.  But the feelings could not be contained within my corporeal existence.  I felt that they should flow from my heart and my mind to the paper which you now read.  And thus, I will share the thoughts that I had upon leaving the arena, floating on the words of the great leaders and speakers who lifted me so high.

I cannot describe my feelings as I leave the asifa in honor of the Adirei HaTorah. Raw emotion is too weak a phrase. Awed emotion would be more fitting to describe the meld of reverence and veneration, esteem and wonder that permeated the Wells Fargo Arena this past Sunday evening. The celebration of Adirei HaTorah was larger than life in the scope of its mission and in its accomplishment, and I feel honored to have been there.
