Audio Message: Igud Harabonim for Corona Matters

The govt has requested that everyone without sympyoms get tested. The Rabbonim advise this will help schools open after Yom Tov with no restrictions. There will be mobile testing units around Lakewood to make it easier and less waiting time.

  1. Where is this request from the government? I didn’t see it anywhere? Was it told to the Vaad?

  2. Who heard of this request why is the govt not talking directly to the people?

    1. Because the government realizes, unlike you, that the Frum people of lakewood, unlike you, turn to Rabbonim for guidance and direction.

  3. Do they want every one to get infected waiting on lines with crowds if you have no symptom?

    1. Actually this makes the line safer. Sick people who are clearly sick should stay home. That means fewer sick people on line. Right now if you crowd into Chai care you may get sick.

One doctor told me he thinks more people got infected at Chai Care than anywhere else in Lakewood.

  4. It's to bring down the positivity rate... its a numbers game for the Vaad, they're in hot water for letting the town of chelm run amuck.

    1. No it isn't. The government is requesting to do this and you should not be making irresponsible assertions in public when you clearly have no ideal what you are talking about

  5. All they care about is masks in stores and public. Not shul’s. Why?? Is it because they are afraid the media will be taking pictures tomorrow of non compliance?? Where was the Vaad the last 2 weeks when numbers kept going up? Why didn’t they say then to be careful?

    1. Are you the only one in Lakewood who didn't see the letters they put our before the numbers went crazy?

    2. i didnt see any letter from the vaad requesting that anyone masks or social distance. its horrifying. all they said was to stay home if you have symptoms. brilliant

  6. This is so ridiculous how they are making fools out of the tzibbur treating us like little children. Bemichilas kvod harabonim please explain the logic and science behind forcing mass testing what will it help. The positivity number is bogus at 27% and having everyone get tested will do nothing but drive up the numbers more with a false positive/negative number of 30%

    1. As long as people act like fools they'll be treated like fools

    2. This logic is not true. As of now only people with symptoms have been testing so the percent of positive results has been much higher. By testing healthy people it will drastically bring down the infected rate

    3. From a public health perspective this is what you are supposed to do, which is why the government is asking for it. The people who are not conscious of their symptoms. And are running around town infecting others R"L, are the ones who need to find out they are really sick so they isolate and quarantine. Sick people now know they are sick

  7. This has nothing to do with safety or health its simply a numbers game. The positivity spread level is up because too many people who took tests turned out positive. The way to bring it down is too have more negative tests that is why they want everyone without symptoms to test.

    1. If you would speak with any of the Rabbonim they will tell you that this was an actual request from the government because it helps control the outbreak. People who are sick know they are sick And don't need to test. People who don't think they are sick are the ones who need to find out they are sick

    2. The rabbonim were very clear in the last letter before yom kippur that if you have no symptoms you dont test. They were pushing antibody testing not covid testing. This latest move is a numbers game to appease the govt

    3. I don't know where you read that in the last letter. It said that if you are sick At all you should stay home, and it did not say What people who don't think that may be sick should do.

Fact is that the government is asking for Lakewood to test wider, so we can catch more infections, so sick people **who Baruch HaShem have been behaving responsibly** can find out they are really sick.

Not the people who already know they are sick.

    4. "Fact is that the government is asking for Lakewood to test wider, so we can catch more infections, so sick people can find out they are really sick."

      Exactly

Herr Murphy wants to see lots of more cases so he can utilize his democratic powers to shut us all down

    5. Wow it's amazing you were able to deduce that and all the Rabbonim and the Roshei Yeshiva missed it.

Fact is the amount of cases we have now can be used to shut us down if that's what they want to do. It's not that they need to get something to be able to do it.

  8. Someone please explain. If everyone gets tested and that results in thousands of new cases, how will that allow the schools to reopen after sukkos

    1. They are taking a gamble and only asking those without symptoms to test hoping to get negative results

      Delete
    2. This is not true. People who don't know they are sick are the ones who need to find out they are sick. Why not, for one second, stop making assumptions and allow the people we turn to for help when we need help to lead us?

  9. This will guarantee the closure of schools in Lakewood. The numbers will only go up. And then the government will say, we tested you all and you all see you have such high numbers. Lakewood will have the highest numbers in the world. Anyone who tests is giving power to those who want to shut down all yeshivos and shuls. If there is no daas there is no torah.

    1. What an idiotic reply. We have that now already.

  10. We should trust our health to a governor whose policies sent 10,000 seniors to their death by infecting the nursing homes.
A administration that politicized the pandemic to close down the state shut schools and buisnneses in an effort to hurt Donald Trump reelection.

Are we such fools to believe that Murphy has our best safety interests in mind?

    1. I think the Rabbonim & Roshei Yeshiva are probably best positioned to make that sort of judgement call and would not be urging people to comply with something if they did not think we ought to.

  11. Reading these comments are so disheartening. The Rabbonim are all well known and public people. They are known for their sound judgement. Are we really going to let a few anonymous internet commenters denigrate them and drive the conversation away from what they feel is the responsible thing to do now?

I don't post comments online but this clear Letzonis at a critical juncture is something which requires it.

    1. They should be mechabed the tzibur and write a respectful letter explaining why the sudden change to have everyone tested. Something they wrote against doing as of last week.

    2. Like the ban on porch minyanim that was a total lie sold to the Lakewood olam. It will take a long time to gain the trust of the olam after having been lied to and fed false information

      Delete
    3. None of the Rabbonim are anonymous so you can call them and ask them why they are saying this, and they also never wrote people should not test. That's a bald faced lie.

If you want leaders who are here to cater to the feelings and whims of the Internet commenters, you can rejoin the Erev Rav. Id rather follow these careful and responsible Rabbonim -- and the Roshei Yeshiva!

    4. careful and responsible Rabbonim ....

....Who didn't urge everyone to wear masks and now are petrified that Herr Murphy will shut them all down

    5. I am being Moche for the Kovod of the Rabbonim and call on the moderator to correct this zilzul

    6. There is unfortunately a mistrust of letters signed by anybody after the porch minyan saga. The olam is עם קשי עורף and not buying anything that is told without facts and reasoning explaining the position or mandate.

    7. R' Yerucham seems to have a different opinion than other RY. I know other RY who are against what went on. The oilam was not mekabel and was not going to be mekabel so they stopped trying to enforce.

Has there been anyone who has said not to wear masks? Any doctor or RY? I know most rabbonim havent said you had to, but as a yachid what is the possible cheshbon not to wear one?

Safek v'nishmartem, safek lo saamod al dam reyecha, safek preventing closing of mosdos, safek chillul hashem.
There are shittos that wearing a mask prevents being oiver on all or one of these so lots of possible sefaikos that are all l'chumra to wear a mask and your personal comfort or gaava as the only reason not to.

  13. The rabbonim are claiming that the government requested all healthy Lakewood residents to get tested. Where did the government say this?

    ReplyDelete
  14. We have a leadership of the vaad calling innocent Lakewood residents bad apples to the national media

The Mayor of Lakewood blaming the covid uptick on Lakewood residents for following Trump and listening to his press conference and for ignoring social distancing

and now the rabbonim force testing all healthy people on erev yom tov to wait 3 hours in lines and get sick from catching it at the urgent cares.

  15. the yeshiva gets govt money that is driving their decisions. please do not call this daas torah. who is igud harabonim for corona anyway?
