Lakewood Poskim: Keep Radio On Over shabbos in case of Emergency Call Police with a שינוי

Update: Vaad follow up phone call that no new information or threat is known at this time that caused them to issue the initial phone call but they want everyone to be cautious.

What was initially called as a peaceful walk and nothing to worry about has now set the Lakewood community in Panic mode and fear right before shabbos ahead of the Protest that will take place shabbos afternoon. A Robo call from the Lakewood Vaad in the names of  Lakewood Rabbonim to keep your radios on for shabbos on 107.9 fm Kol Berama station should there be a need to issue important information to the community. The radio frequency will be silent but officials will break in in case of any critical information that will be relayed to the Lakewood community.

One should call the police with a shinuy if needed.

Additionally police  will be patrolling all neighborhoods should you see anything suspicious to report it immediately.

  1. Than our wonderful askanim for the confusing messages starting with the outbreak of corona and getting progressively more confusing as the weeks have gone by.
Can someone stand up and take control?

  4. Why was it necessary to have this protest and certainly not on shabbos I'm assuming the askonim asked dass torah. This whole protest is really an excuse for many to act unpeaceful

  9. The Askonim overbuilt this town to death.
Than blamed the Hatred on Porch Minyans !
They threatened Rabbanim over corona for weeks .
And than tell us to hide at home in fear .

May You be Richly Rewarded for all your Care and Devotion

  10. We can't wait for the self appointed askanim to resign or step aside it's not going to happen. We have to form a coalition with rabbonim nothing to do with the yeshiva but strictly for the shtut of Lakewood. Than organize and present our unity to the politicians in spite of the vaad or agudah. The politicians must be told that the current leadership does not represent the Lakewood residents but themselves that is the only way to shift away the power from those who are abusing it.

  11. I believe the 3 BOE podcasts this week about the protest brought unneeded attention to our town and to this protest.

    1. Actually, making a lot of noise about it beforehand likely contributed to it not becoming violent. When the organizer is forced to say that his account was hacked, then he is also forced to abandon his violent intention for this 'protest'.
