Lakewood News Briefs Friday 9/6/19

-A large fire broke out early Friday morning at the Highpoint apartment complex in Lakewood at Prospect and Massachusetts streets. Local and neighboring fire companies were battling the blaze. Three people were injured 1 medivaced by helicopter to Livingston hospital for smoke inhalation and severe burns. The roof partially collapsed cause of the fire is under investigation. 16 units were damaged. (NJ.com)

-The Lakewood BOE  was public Meeting was cancelled after a unattended backpack caused a bomb scare. It turned out to be trash that was moved from down the block. Parents were furious and said this was another attempt to silence them and not allow them to speak to the board members.

-Hurricane Dorian: Winds and Rain bands will hit the area along the Jersey shore. Highs surf and rip currents expected at Coastal Ocean county authorities say not to go in the water

-Pop Up kosher Pizza now open at Jackson crossing shopping plaza near Wawa on E. Veterans
