BOE votes to Demote Math Teacher and transfer Principals

R' Aaron Lang a math teacher since 2003 who is fighting the state DOE to provide Lakewood schools with more funding was demoted by the board members 2 of them were also his students at Belmar Yeshiva.

Students and parents showed up at the BOE meeting to stand up for and  protest the transfer of their beloved  Lakewood high principal and vice principal  to another school. In the end, despite their pleas  the Board members voted to transfer them to the Piner elementary school.

The board also voted to transfer Lakewood Math teacher R' Arthur Lang a BMG alumnus and Lawyer, from his teaching job at the high school to a 8th grade teachers position. A commentor notedo that 2 of the BOE members were students of Mr. Lang at Belmar yeshiva yet they they did not stand up for him one voted to transfer and the other was a no show. The high school currently has 5 vacancies for math teachers and only 2 permanent ones including Mr. Lang. No explanation was given as to the transfer.

APP reports Mr. Lang filed an affidavit claiming the demotion has to do with his lawsuit since he subpoenaed district officials to testify in the case. Officials declined to comment.

Mr. Lang filed a lawsuit 5 years ago against the state funding formula that it does not providing Lakewood students with a thorough and Efficient Education. In a interview with the Yated Ne'eman R' Aron Lang said he has put in hundreds of hours into the case all pro bono. If  he would bill at an hourly rate it would be over $2.5 Million. He said he will never quit and will take the case to the supreme court.

That case has just concluded and a ruling is expected by the end of the year.

  1. What a massive chilul hashem went on at a few fronts what an embarrassment that these officials represent the olam.
The condescending public mockery of a news reporter. The board members were called out by students for not caring about them. And then the alleged retaliation against a frum yid a hero.

  3. This board is proposing a major tax increase via referendum. How can they do it after they already raised taxes this year by 2 percent.

  8. Another disgusting part of the meeting was having the kids wait for a hour and a half while the clown show was going on. And the board members sat silent

    1. don't know for sure, but he made them look bad by taking action, when they should have long ago. they tried to join the case to save face, but it was too late and the court rejected them.

  10. They are all puppets and controlled by the handlers. Some people in power can not stand that someone else will do a better job than them or get the credit in this case to increase the funding. That may explain a thing or two.

  12. Reb Aaron is doing all of us a favor and paying a price for it. We owe it to him to ensure him a parnassa, not as a tzedaka, not out of pity, but to partner in the expenses that he is accruing for our benefit. I dont know how to organize this, but some kind of payment has to be made by all of those who gain from his actions.
