BOE Special Meeting in the AM "Lakewood Township is responsible for Hazardous/courtesy Busing"

-LSTA already charged parents for next year's transportation
-Update 8:00 am: BOE says as of today July 1, 2019 the LSTA  expired last night at 12:00 am and does not exist (technically) a new bill going forward in Trenton will look to create a similar consortium for private/yeshiva kids in all of Ocean county  Special BOE meeting will take place early this morning July, 12019 -7:30 am at 855 Somerset Ave  Watch live stream HERE

- A resolution to take legal action that Lakewood township pays for Hazardous/courtesy busing for public and non public students since it is responsible to ensure safe and adequate transportation. (The township is already paying $1.8 million dollars for public school courtesy busing from the municipal budget.)
-Support bill for a county-wide consortium to operate non-public busing with funding directly from the State of New Jersey.
-Support the LSTA and request that funding be secured for the coming year
-Reimburse parents of students attending Camp SCHI not to exceed $8,500 per student.
-The Lakewood BOE declares the budget approved on June 24, 2019 to be “null and void” and;
- Superintendent to furlough non-essential staff until resolution of the issues
-To operate only those programs mandated by NJDOE required for health and safety

HAZARDOUS BUSING FOR PUBLIC AND NON-PUBLIC STUDENTS
That the Board authorize the Board Attorney to take any and all necessary legal action to
ensure that the Township of Lakewood pay for the cost of hazardous/courtesy busing for
public and non-public students as the township through their construction approval process
and land use regulations is responsible to ensure safe and adequate transportation routes for
all students.

  1. The LSTA took care if the larger schools and the well connected smaller mosdos and yeshivos
    still have busing and transportation problems.

  3. What a chilul Hashem went on at the BOE meeting are these officials representitive of the frum community such arrogance and condescending attitude toward a human being.
    This is how a high paid salary official. Acts?
