On this day in 355 BCE, Haman's edict for destroying the Jewish people was overturned. The date is mentioned three times in megilas Esther.כ"ג בסיוון, הוא יום מסוגל לישועה יום סגולה היום - יום שמחה יום אשר נאמר עליו 'ליהודים הייתה אורה ושמחה וששון ויקר היום (רביעי), כ"ג בסיוון, הוא יום מסוגל לישועה על פי סיפור המגילה, תאריך כ"ג בסיוון, הוא התאריך שבו נכתבו הספרים לביטול הגזירות שגזר המן הרשע על כלל היהודים ב-127 מדינות מלכותו של המלך אחשוורוש מובא בספרים הקדושים כי מדובר ביום שמסוגל לישועות ולבטל גזר דין מעל כל אדם. ביום זה, מומלץ לקרוא את פרק כ"ב בתהילים, המיוחס לאסתר המלכה, וכן במגילת אסתר עצמה את פרק

That day is mesugal because of only one event that occurred on that day? Who says that 23 Sivan is mesugal?

DeleteYerovam Ben Navot made a huge holiday in Cheshvon. The new holidays are certainly based upon the religion they are trying fit onto themselves.

Curious about the mekor for this segulah, especially given the mefurashe shulchan aruch. I am glad the commentator made clear the shulchan aruch is a "sefer hakadosh", otherwise not sure what I would do with it in the face of this segula.

ReplyDeleteThe basis of the problem here is that the mekor for this segula is מובא בספרים הקדושים, a type of sourcing that is exclusive to some chasidishe seforim. Seforim that are torah always cite the actual source. If the writer did that we would know exactly what type of sgula this is.

To (supposedly) manipulate and force Gods hand in obtaining what we want in this world
Basically amounts to (attempted) circumvention of the Divine will
Uh no sir your comment crossed a line and is not borderline but pure kefira. We can’t “force the hand of god”, segulos are not a guarantee either as it depends on many things whether or not we are zoche to a specific wish. It is quite clear and obvious that we cannot force gods hand in any way.

If they’d be going based on their merits/demerits ie performance of torah or lack thereof they wouldn’t be engaging with segulos in the first place
If anything segulah use is kefirah
No a segula is not magic, that’s obvious and the proof is that it doesn’t always work. But there is such a concept that a time or by doing something it’s more mesugal for a certain outcome. That’s not a guarantee or magic. Just like we understand bnisan nigalu ubenisan asidin lehigael, it obviously cannot mean we can’t have the geula any other month.
