Bowcraft Amusement Park and now Blackbeard's Cave closing

Popular Chol Hamoed and camp amusement destinations are closing for the upcoming season. First it was Bowcraft amusement park in scotch planes, NJ on rt 22 The park permanently ceased operations in October 2018 after a developer purchased the property with plans to demolish the park and build 190 apartments and 10 townhomes according to wikipedia. Now comes news that Blackbeard's cave in Bayville a popular attraction for Lakewood families will be closing too. There is some speculation if its only the arcade part or the outdoor park as well. A report in Patch says  Blackbeard's Cave Arcade in Bayville will close Feb. 3 after 25 years of operation, according to Exit 77 Scanner News. Customers must use their tokens and redeem tickets before closing, as they are non-refundable, according to a picture Exit 77 Scanner News found outside the arcade.

Blackbeard's Cave Family Entertainment Center also features outdoor activities such as go-karts, mini golf and batting cages. Although their homepage states "PARK CLOSED TILL SPRING OF 2019," it is unclear whether only the arcade or the rest of the family center is closing permanently.

The center has not posted on social media since Oct. 19, before outdoor activities would have closed for the winter. Attempts to reach Blackbeard's Cave were unsuccessful.

  1. Nebach.

Now some genius can come along and create a Toirah'dik Yom Tov / Chol Hamoed atmosphere by opening a "Chol Hamoed" Yeshivah / Bais Yakov( as in Yeshivas Mordechai hatzadik which operates on Purim only) and let ALL of us - age not making a difference - start celebrating Yom Tom /Chol Hamoed as it was meant to be celebrated.

Where is it stated that Yeshivos should be off on Chol Hamoed ??? In Which Shulchan Aruch ??? There is absolutely no reason in the world that anyone should waste their time and involve themselves in outright Moshav Laitzim..or other such nonsense.
Bitul Toirah (boys) and Bitul Zman (girls) have no place in our religion in this day and age.
Outrageous ????? Find a legit excuse for this old fashioned, outdated "meshugas".

The money. The aggravation. The competition. The Kinah, Tayvah and Kovod. All the non sense that this causes.

Chol Hamoed was NEVER EVER meant to be a "Vacation" by any means.

  4. Black beards cave has been looking to sell their property for a very long time. Could be for a lot of reasons, but rising real estate taxes in NJ is very costly for a business that has as much property as they do.

  5. Choose any time of the year for "Family Time". If School is in session should have no bearing on importance "Family Time".
Most families (Regular frum one's) have plenty of Family Time at home, at meals at simchos or just any time that its required.
I never saw a definition for Family Time as: Going out to enjoy the world the "goyish" way.
Enough said without getting into more details of today's "Family Time" Excuses.
