LSTA Buses ready to roll, No changes until after Sukkos

The Lakewood Transportation Authority buses will begin Tuesday as schools have the first full day of the year. The  LSTA is in charge of setting up routes for 36,000 students  bused daily to Lakewood private schools. The routes are set and no change requests will be made until after sukkos. Officials say it takes some time for the routes to take root and ask everyone to be patient for the first few weeks. This year, bus stops have been consolidated and some kids have different stops for pick up and drop off. Primary kid parents must wait at the bus stop for pick up and drop off.

  1. Yup. 2 kids in my family. Same school. Same bus run. Different stops. Explain that??

  3. I understood the enormity of the project, however it is extremely frustrating that we cannot request changes until after succos. My son and his friend are 7, and need to walk 3 blocks to and from their stop crossing over 3 streets. The bus passes right by the intersection closest to us. No logical reason for this, but we need to wait till after succos. It's maddening.

    1. I have the exact same thing! Bus has a set route from years ago when the kids who lived in the neighborhood going on the bus were not even the same kids, and everyone has to walk to those stops regardless of whether it makes sense or if the bus passes by (on his outdated route) your intersection or not.

  4. first year they said they only had 2 weeks to prepare, than they blamed it on outdated mapping software.
Now there is no excuse for these bus stops that makes no sense and yet we cant request any changes until 2 month from now.
