Poll: Overwhelming Support for Trump Among Orthodox Jews

This poll reflects Lakewood's support for Trump at 90%

In the first known effort of its kind, Ami Magazine commissioned a poll of Orthodox Jews in the tristate area about their views on President Trump’s performance. The pollsters surveyed 263 people over two weeks and asked them four questions.

The strong support for Trump in the Orthodox community was evidenced by the finding that 91% of participants gave a “Satisfactory” or “Very Satisfactory” review to the president, and a total of 82% would vote for him again in 2020. (While not directly comparable, Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll for July 30 showed a 47% approval rating among the general public.)

A high level of support even crosses party lines. About 37% of the registered Democrats said they’d vote for Trump in 2020, and 71% of the Democrats gave Trump a “Satisfactory” or “Very Satisfactory” approval rating.

A disturbing point was that a full 29% of those polled aren’t even registered to vote.

  2. This story is misleading.

The ones who gave a "very satisfactory" response are less than half (a bit over 40%). The largest group (just over 50%) gave a lesser, "satisfactory" response. While satisfactory is not the same as saying that someone is in the opposition, it is actually a vague term that doesn't talk about support.

So it is not as simple as the headline wants to make it out to be.

Beware of polls which might have agendas.

  3. So despite a very strong support among frummeh yidden for Trumpp, The Agudah keeps going after Trump putting out statements yet they claim to represent Klal Yisrael. The guys in the ivory tower are out of touch with the common folk its time they get out of their bubble. If they want to be relevent its not enough to be on social media but they have to listen and hear "Reb Yisrael" as they claim to do.

    1. Very unlikely that Turx used to daven at Friedlander's father's shtiebel in B.P. because Turx is from LA

    2. Turx's family was in NY previously.

IIRC, Turx's bris was at Friedlander/Liska shtiebel. They go back together way back.

      Ask Jake or Friedlander.

  9. What happened to the עם חכם ונבון? How can we support someone whose policies are based on 'gut feeling' and biases? Why did we stop respecting חכמה and שכל? How are we so easily persuaded with a little short term gain? We are like children that prefer the candyman to the person that actually educates us

I'm no fan of Trump or Tipesush but sometimes peoples instincts are a lot more worth following than a brilliant New York Times editorial

  10. ?שכל זו בוש וחכמה זו אובאמא
This man Trump has done more good for this country than the past 50 years of “״שכל and “״חכמה Presidents. Combined. Stop reading Ami Magazine and watching msnbc. Frum Jewry made the right choice.
