Israeli Police Brutality Make International News

The Israeli Police harsh response to protests in Yerushalayim about Giyus Banos has made the international media. See Video below.
The story was posted on the front Page of the Drudgereport April 15 edition along with a picture of frum Yidden. The headline read: Israel police use stun grenades to quell ultra-Orthodox 'rioters' and linked to a article on Yahoo News . Protesters were beaten and hospitalized in a new tactic to quell it.  "Israeli police used stun grenades Sunday to try to calm a violent protest by ultra-Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem, the latest angry demonstration against the military draft. A police statement said four officers were slightly injured in scuffles as law enforcement tried to disperse "several hundred ultra-Orthodox extremists" outside an army enlistment office in the holy city. "Police used stun grenades and water cannon against rioters," police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told AFP."
Even more shocking are the comments on yeshiva world News Youtube channel: "Shoot them with real bullets" and "These people dont deserve to live".

The Gedolei Yisroel NEVER sanctioned illegal demonstrations, and were loathe to allow legal ones. Yet here, irresponsible ideas have grabbed hold of a whole tzibur. Some people are suffering from a תאוות הנקמה ושלטון and they are willing to risk people's lives, health and spiritual wellbeing for their own תאוות. When we see these pictures, we should be asking "who allows the hafganos to take place? Who dares send bochurim to these places? Where is their אחריות?"

Let us keep up the mahalach of Rav Shach and the Brisker Rov, not to seek fights with the Zionists. This is our mesora and we shouldn't be looking for new ones.

    1. Zichron devarim,

Rav Shach has bigger people and talmidim who know his mehalach they are on the moetzes bnei torah. They know a bit more than you.

You are a hack who hijacked rav shach to fit your agenda sitting behind your keyboard in the comfort of your home.

  7. One simple question. What exactly are the protesters demanding? What would they consider a successful ending to the "haredi draft"? Are they expecting the government to give an evening to anyone wearing a black hat? How bout it it's a grey hat? How else is a government supposed to determine that one is haredi, other than requiring that one declare so with a signature? How can we have violent protest, without a clearly stated demand that would end them? I've asked this question to lots of Peleg supporters, and I've yet to receive an answer. Please. Very simple. What exactly is it that you demand?

    1. Nothing will satisfy you. You are approaching the issue as a ball haboss who is influenced by the blogs and other apologetic from websites and media.

BH there are Gedolei Torah who see things differently than you.

Your epitomizes a "I have no good answer so I'll knock you and call to authority" type answer.

Did you come to your opinion in the Beis Medrash while hurving over a blatt gemorah?

And don't tell me I'm a baal habos influenced by the blogs. I felt the same way about these hafgonas while I was learning in Brisk way before blogs and any other website existed.

  10. Even if these demonstrations are the right thing to do, no one who gets beaten up has the right to complain. Everyone knows that the manner Israeli disperse demonstrations is by violence. Anyone who joins an illegal demonstrations does so with that understanding.

They may be right about demonstrating for this cause .But they do so at their own peril and risk. (mesirus nefesh?)

If you do something illegal which also inconveniences an enormous amount of people time after time again, you don't have the right to demand how you should or shouldn't be treated for it.

  11. Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought bnei Torah epitomize a life of learning Torah. How is a life of regular hafganos a life of learning Torah? Why do these people deserve כבוד התורה when they refuse to actually learn? Leave כבוד התורה for those who spend their time learning and give these people the כבוד that is due those who demonstrate and work for the public. Perhaps כבוד העסקנים.
