  1. Turning your blues into a Happy Purim.

Too many Morahs - Send a check (this minhag is the old minhag and is brought in older seforim) they'll love you.
Takes up the whole day - see above.
Why does every kid..... - 1. they don't have too 2. They learned from us -Parents.
The theme thing - see above.
Pressure to think... - Themes are not part of the halachic Shloach monus thus -see above.
Who ever went.... We - parents - shop for everything else so why is SM different. Besides you can have it delivered right to your door from the local magazines - and you tzadik or Tzadaikess can do the same.
A waste of Money - not if you send cash to the teachers as one should do.
Can't afford... Checks can be deducted from Maaser (once you send the regular SM to your Shachan Tov).
How much to spend? Your child's Morahs are worth alot more then the Money you spend on their SM (Including the gas and time).
Who to give.... Your Rov (2 items + a check) your kids Morahs (A check alone will do) and you were yoitzay the Mitvah L'chol HaDayous - any additional spending should go the Matonous L'evyonim as is quoted in Halacha.
My SM is Nebby - A Check is NEVER nebby.
Can I trust - see above and this issue will Automatically disappear.
Posting on... It Treif to begin with - at least in this town.
What to do with leftovers? Hope you do not have "leftovers" after "taking care" of all the right people.

  2. Not EVRYTHING in this town is about money its just to re-establish a old minhag Kodesh that has been neglected. Lakewood would be the town to re -establish this Holy minhag.

For the record - I am neither a Morah, teacher, rebbi, Rosh HaYeshivah, Rosh Hakollel, Rosh HaChaburah, Posek, Askan, Rov or Non-Rov (not a Wanna-be of the above either).

  3. my pet peeve is families that ALL get dressed up as the same thing.
MY kids cannot agree on ANYTHING!!
but all this is silly. I love using my creativity to think of themes and
fun shalach manos and I DO NOT spend a lot! But others who do not can send a simple shalach manos that is not creative and just fine! so NO PRESSURE! ENJOY THE DAY!!

  4. Please , Please , Please !
Yes. Traffic is crazy but hands off the Morahs!!!!
The same people whom we ask to build our children who are our surrogates in what we should be doing and do it with a smile!
Of all people to chepper you pick the are not a morahs????
This is reminiscent of the haskala who used to poke fun at the cheder rebeim because they were an easy target whereas the admorim and rabbonim were held in high esteem by all so they laid off
If you cant make it to the Morah tell them in advance so they can give the mishloach manos before or after or just don`t go and send them a check
    Spread Simcha not grumpiness!!!
Remember on Purim we learn that we are to be mekabel everything BeAhava not grumpiness !!!!!
