  3. As a child of holocaust survivors from Czechoslovakia I am disgusted by such a lavish jewish event on the anniversary of kristalnacht. There are videos going around of mixed seating dinners with food made by gourmet chefs in fancy restaurants. The itinerary is insulting..a visit to the concentration camp that killed so many Jews, my zaidy was one of them, and afterwards a lavish gourmet meal with live music. Tours in horse drawn carriages. A visit to see a cross with the figure of jesus on it that has a hebrew passage on it.( You should really ask a shaila if you can even look at it. It has a person hanging on it and is probably avoda zara) although you guys always support Bob Singer so you probably have a hetter. I cannot believe that this lavish vacation is happening under the auspices of a supposed makom torah. It is very sad. Whoever is behind this trip has taken BMG down to its lowest point yet. I'm sure he has further to go.

  4. In all fairness the Prague event is a private fundraising trip for the major donors of the yeshiva. They can do whatever they want its not a public venue. You Not the first time a yeshiva had a mixed sitting banquet for a private fundraiser.
The leil shishi event was cancelled out of concern that Bochurim would go and also it sets a new standard for the kosher experience in Lakewood.

  5. To the Vaad:
I think you should post an article on tls with all your reasons why its right and how you are so strong and even when you clearly loose make false claims why really you are winners.. oh then a few hours later write it up again how great you are and why this is right...

    2. Im not a vaad troll and I dont agree with HH. What does a private fundraising event for BMG donors have to do with us? Dont mix apples and oranges.....

    3. It's typical liberal leftist response . If they dont agree, with you ,then you must be a vaad troll. After all ,their opinion is the only valid one and how dare anybody have an opposing opinion. .

    4. I dont think there's any problem with having your own opinion. Just get all your facts straight and dont assume things.

    5. Everyone who disagrees is a vaad troll, don't deny it.

  10. The English is atrocious. What does 'arrival to Prague' mean? Why can't these guys find someone who actually knows English?

  11. What bothers me most about this whole shpiel is the lack of respect for HaRav Malkiel Shlita, having him eat with his rebbitzen in public. Absolute disrespect.

  12. Amuhl roshei yeshiva had no choice they had to attend mixed events or dinners that was the culture in the 50's 60's and 70's. Today we have yeshivisha frum balei batim that are bnei torah there is no need for this extravagance.

  13. How pathetic it is that they go and cancel a supposed to be very nice event in Lakewood (men only) because its not appropriate and on that VERY SAME NIGHT they go and have a mixed event elsewhere to make some money. They should all be embarrassed to come back and show their faces!!!!!

  16. Why does this blog allow so much negativity about so many things, but will never allow anyone to call out Harold Hershkowitz?
You can say anything about anyone, but if you question HH you are blocked. Totally TLS style.
Also makes you wonder whose running this place....

    2. You are obviously new here or blind. There is always comments posted on this website against hh. Look around other threads before you come out swinging.. the vaad trolls are constantly posting anti hh stuff because he is the only man enough person in town to call them out and uses his name not like us anonymous posters..

  19. You dont seem to get it. HH is here for the people hes put his neck out for the tzibbur and paid a heavy price for his children who were rejected from Lakewood schools. How dare you equate Ren Hershel with the self serving askanim or vaad. why should he be attacked for sticking up for what is right.
hes in no position of power and had no financial gain off the Lakewood taxpayers
Hes here fighting fr all of us we owe him a yasher Koach and hakaros hatov.

    1. I agree with this. By blocking comments and publishing only specific articles, you are no different and no better then TLS. Actually, maybe they are even better, at least there is no gossip spread though it.

  21. Well said. This guy must be referring to a personal fight a few months ago when hh didn't endorse a candidate etc..
