Will the Lakewood Vaad make a Gubernatorial Endorsement?

Elections are 3 weeks away and this year NJ is one of two states where citizens will vote for a Governor. Democrat nominee Phil Murphy recently visited Lakewood and met with Vaad officials and some other special interests the general public was not invited. A new poll finds likely voters favor Democrat Phil Murphy over Republican Kim Guadagno to replace Gov. Chris Christie. The Vaad endorsed Guadango in the Republican primary back in May, but as it seems they may back Murphy in the general or make no endorsement at all.

Murphy most likely will not get the general Lakewood vote even with a Vaad endorsement due to his liberal left policies and his plan to rise taxes by $1.3 Billion. Lakewood generally votes republican and on a state and national level the vaad's endorsement is of no significance and even locally the Vaad's power has weakened.

In the Presidential elections Over 75% of the Lakewood vote went  for Trump making it the Trumpiest town in NJ. The Vaad endorsed Corzine over Chrstie in the first term, but Lakewood voted overwhelmingly for Christie.
The Vaad may pull a Route 9 surprise like they did with Corzine promising $100 million dollars to "widen the Nine" if he wins, but this time even that would be a hard sell.

  1. Murphy is going to get rid of the 2% property tax cap, so the Vaad will probably endorse him.

They must be absolutely salivating over the opportunity to raise taxes 10% annually without a referendum or reassessment

  2. The card have the chutzpah to speak on our behalf while we never appointed them in the first place.
They take advantage and use the tzibbur voting bloc for themselves.

  3. Have they learnt their lesson? Do they know how not to burn their bridges with either candiadte?
Or will they do the same thing again and trigger more investigations and arrests because of their incompetence?

  4. The politicians know that the vaad is a joke. But they use them for whatever they could.

  5. In the primaries the vaad didn't endorse any democrat candidates besides for Township committee. They did endorse on the Republican side... so much for the block vote on the state level. They like to endorse the presumed winners so they look like they are winners let's all vote delia and berman for Township committee And not delia coles who the vaad will endorse because coles will line their pockets. Vote Republican slate

    1. Berman is not nogeia. He can care less about Lakewood's needs. D'Elia as well jumped ship when he was needed, and made Ray the Mayor. We have Raitzik, and we can write in Harold for the 2nd seat.
