Hundreds Come Out To Protest increased Density and Zoning Changes at Lakewood Masterplan Committee

Last night at the meeting residents came out in force to oppose the masterplan committee recommendations that called for more Density and other zoning changes. Police were on hand throughout the duration of the meeting to keep the peace. Residents from the senior communities reacted to the reports that the township released only hours before the meeting. They were upset over the recommendation to permit schools anywhere on Lakewood and the change to zoning near their communities. They lectured the board that there is a higher authority than the almighty dollar and this is not what Hashem wants. One resident questioned if Lakewood is a growing city why are there ads in the weekly papers begging and luring Residents from other  towns to move to Lakewood. Another asked the committee if they will take responsibility when family members will get hurt in accidents caused by the density traffic. A friend of the developers got up and defended the actions of the board and called out all those in attendance for showing disrespect to the planning boards there are bad developers just as there are bad seniors, there is bad in every group.

  1. Your article claims that someone at the meeting called people bad seniors. No one at the meeting called anyone bad seniors. That is an absolutely gross misquote. Such a gross misquote should be immediately corrected, and should not be allowed to remain for even one second.
