Turn Off Your Ringers

Unless you want to get annoying condescending divisive robocalls from the vaad telling you to shut your brain and continue the madness they created. The Vaad spokesman couldn't leave a simple election endorsement without a parting shot at Thousands of frum Lakewood residents who only want what is best for the town. In the Vaads own words "Let us stop those that are trying to divide us and weaken us".

  1. If achdus is so important, maybe they should back down? Why is the other guy always the one responsible for achdus?

This is not an endorsement of any candidate, just pointing out hypocrisy.

    1. Like the democrats always calling for the republicans to compromise, but when they're in power, they don't compromise.

  2. Only calls I've gotten so far were from all these guys who are running, and none have yet made a convincing argument as to why we should vote for them other than "I'm not the other guy."

    1. And what convincing statement did shenky make to convince us to keep him after all these years of internal corruption and blatant lies.

  3. Sounds like a bunch of farbisine people here who can't fargin the people who worked hard all these years and rightfully so get some perks along the way- yes, that's the way of the world. Now that it's a booming town all of the sudden everyone wants a piece of the power pie. Get a life.

    1. How so? some perks?? they made millions off it! by hijacking the voting block? by making Thousands of yidden pay astronomical high taxes? by profiting off the backs of the youngeleit?
They should be embarrassed for what they did!

I have no strength to even argue with the demented twisted mind that you have. Perks? Is your town being destroyed a perk?

    3. Some perks is one thing, but not on yenems cheshbon.

    4. The town is not being destroyed. Unless you call a farm turning into a bustling and booming town destruction. Yes, there are growing pains and challenges, but in the big picture that's a good thing. Stop peddling fear out there, it's not like any candidate has any genius ideas. I can also say I will solve the traffic problem until I turn blue. And no, I am not affiliated with the Vaad and have never interacted with any of its members (besides showing an esrog). Now go block me like TLS would.

    5. anon 7:01 You are spewing the vaad taking points, in addition to praving frum that you bring your esrog to Mendel.
No other town in the metro area had this over-development go on just to profit and line the pockets of wealthy investors. Thousands of Lakewood residents dont agree with you. The seniors dont trust the Vaad neither do the youngeleit

    6. 7:01 pm you are one strange bird. If you would ask everyone who lived here the past 15 years whether Lakewood is better now, or 15 years ago, unless someone works in real estate or as a builder, I doubt you would find anyone who would honestly tell you it is better now.

The reason why the VAAD may lose this time is because of people like yourself. Trying to deny the problems and corruption doesn't make them go away.

    7. And one member got so "perk hungry" that he ended up becoming a certified felon. Now people wonder why his school was so successful (not)

    8. anon7:12 you never lived in Staten Island were over-development was just to line the pockets of wealthy investors. I can tell you stories that would make some of the things in Lakewood look good

I'm so tired of typing this .
    Republicans
    Avraham Sharaby
    Yosef Travis
    Independents or Democrat
    David Gruman
These three will get rid of our incumbent Vaad puppets and we will choose the 2 members from them. They are our only hope.

  9. The fact is the vaad kept a certain achdus in town for the last 40 years. You are free to disagree and vote for who you want, but it us the newcomers who are anti vaad who are practically breaking the achdus , not the other way around. You migut feel that you are correct in breaking that. That is your right as a citizen. But at least realize that you are breaking the achdus .

    1. Ha Ha ha. You should write for the Pravda. The vaad was a self created entity 1995-6. The Bnei Yeshiva always voted against the vaad once the elections effected them directly. The Achdus in town is in spite of the Vaad who had nothing to do with the hamon am and all they did was terrorize anyone who had an opinion or dare to stand up to them. Did you forget when most of the town voted against the vaad during the Christie election?
Did you forget that many Lakewood Rabbonim say the Vaad is a joke.

    2. "The fact is the vaad kept a certain achdus in town for the last 40 years." If you are talking about silencing and bullying anyone who opposes these individuals agenda and controlling the propoganda as an accomplishment, it's really not that impressive.

There are many examples in history were political entities accomplished the same thing for a much longer period of time (The VAAD has not been around 40 years).

      For example

      1) The KGB
      2) The East German Stasi
      3) The Chinese Communist Party
4)The Workers Party of (North) Korea
      5) Robert Mugabe and His ZANU Party in Zimbabwe
      6) The Khmer Rouge in Cambodia

Notice how these political entities, like the Vaad, are "all about the people"

Actually the only one entity in this which kept everyone b'achdus for a very long time is the KCL. Everyone came beachdus to eat the only hechsher in town

  10. Why doesn't the vaad allow on Tls other candidates an open forum?? The fact that they censor and cutoff any candidate from having an open forum is enough of a reason to not support them. If they were open and really for the people they would have a fair and open discussion, the fact they are only allowing their candidates, the incumbents who they know work only with them and do what the vaad dictates is NOT a reason to vote for them. It's ALL the reason to vote against the Vaad.

  11. to anon 7:10 the vaad was started in the 90's by ak and shenkey was thrown out then brought back in. many are old time lakewooders and are sick of whats going on having spoken to many of them. get your facts straight!!!!

  12. I sit in Lakewood traffic everyday, probably for about 2 hours in total - of what should be about 20 minutes max. I beg of everyone who can vote, to please go vote, - if not for yourselves then do it as a good deed for me. Please vote for change, we can't go on like this.
When you're unsure what to do you ask for advice, but there are no questions - the status quo just isn't tolerable. A neighbor of mine has switched to working from home because of the lost travel time. It just can't continue. Route 9 north a few years ago was backed up till James, now it's backed up to Hearthstone. Imagine after the oak street corridor how it's going to look.

  14. The Problem is They over did it . when they got a Lot zoned for 5 homes to 25 townhomes it was not enough they now have to squeeze in another 10 homes to make it 35 than eliminate as many paper streets as possible and make the roads as narrow as possible
