  1. I would just like to know why they charge some schools and not others. Its really unfair.I have better things to do with my money if its not really mandatory which I assume its not if some of the schools dont charge the parents.

    1. LSTA , Are gonna dump 5 year old kids/Jackson residents to wait on dangerous streets again, or at odd spots in the middle of the forest,
Are you going to check on the mentally UNSTABLE bus drivers that , we entrust our kids with?
Are you going to make sure that EVERYONE has a bus, not just the politically connected?
Are you going to make our kids wait on crowded streets and put them in danger again,
Are you going to make our kids wait in the freezing cold for hours on end again?
Are you going to hear the Westgate, Jackson and Toms river complaints and try to work with them .
Or will you just say .. we do what we want and smile and pat yourselves on the back , like the rest of the township and bus company owners.

  2. Why are you quoting anything from the banned voice?
If he opted to use the Vaad's voice, you know we are in trouble big time.
Maybe Michael will get rid of him.

    2. The point he is trying to make is that they filled routes on a bid by bid basis and routes with courtesy stops were often shorter since they are inevitably closer to school, so bus companies, having the choice, picked those up first. That is why many kids who lived further from school didn't get busing for months and/or were told the only way their route could be picked up is if all the kids go to one stop in the neighborhood so they can run a 45 minute route in half the time - and for a lot of kids, the parents have to drive them to the stop each morning.

  4. LSTA are you gonna still have your drivers drop off the kids early in the morning, way before school starts, in the freezing sleet, without any supervision on hand leaving them in empty parking lots unsupervised. All so the driver can squeeze 2 runs in.
Your lucky this is Lakewood where people are scared to report such child neglect to the authorities....

Get rid of all busing. Tell the public school system we don't need your favors . Half of the town drives their kids already because they don't want their child to suffer on a hot bus for over an hour for a 5 minute drive. Stop giving away our rights to an education for our children for a very inconvenient conveniece. Think about the big picture. Stop all busing to private schools. Then we can start making real demands for our children's education.

    1. Just like the Vaad, you've decided that you are the self appointed spokesman for the Klal. There are a lot of people who rely on the busing to allow them to get to work on time. Not everyone is their own boss...
If we give in on the busing which is mandated, why would they give anything else that is rightfully ours?

    2. Harold, You have absolutley no idea what a nightmare that would be
Lakewood taxpayers pay thousands of dollars
At the very least, the one thing we actually get we aint giving up

    3. Harold has a point. If the private schools stop getting busing, they can no longer scapegoat us for causing budget issues with the schools. The BOE budget must shrink, and our property taxes would go down.

    4. I agree with Harold. Why are we adjusting our schooling schedules that some girls are only in school for 2 hours on Friday just so we can have bussing. Let every school say "we need our students to have full school days", and toss the whole bussing shenanigan out the window. We send our children to school so they should learn. It takes time to actually teach. Precious hours are wasted because of the "staggered bussing" shenanigan. No reason why 3rd graders are starting school at 9:45 and being let out at 3:15.

    5. I think all schools should pull a Bais HaTorah and buy their own busses.

    6. The private schools don't get busing. Its the parents and children that get mandated busing. Many of these parents could not afford to pay to transport their kids.

  8. A smooth beginning if your in one of the large well connected schools

you also dont have to pay the $150 per child fee if your children are in the cheder or Bais Faiga or they go to Public School. Everyone else is forced to pay.

Either we ALL pay or no one pays.

  9. They have to pay for the high salaries. The funding does not cover all the administrative costs.

  10. Sorry to say but the lsta was a brilliant move without it 1000s of kids would not have busing they did the big schools first cause it made sense think about it more kids on shorter runs cheaper routes just because your entitled to courtesy busing- so only a few hundred kids should have busing just so you have your busing all your entitled to is $$! your right had nothing been done you probably would've had busing but is that not selfish of you? Stop hating and criticizing every single thing that is done in this town you're losing your credibility... No I'm not a spokesperson for the vaad or lsta but this is one thing to me seems like the politicians did right let's call it the way it is..

    1. You are 100 per cent right. Unfortunately there is a group of people who complain hastily about anything that was done by any kind of Askonim. Without knowing any background they always assume any Asian is corrupt and evil so therefore anything they do must he bad. This attitude will destroy us.
