  1. AK speaks for nobody but himself and Uncel $himmy Who asked him for his opinion on this matter? The Rosh Yeshiva Rav Malkiel Shlita is very active and most definitely does not agree at all with AK and he fully supports all shtadlanus against the Giyus threat.

    1. Did you protest when the moetza allowed Oslo (and the nesigah from azza) in exchange for money? Even the erlau Rov vehemently opposed, but the various moatzot approved anyway? (I won't even get into where the money went. The yeshiva bochurim definitely never saw any of that money.)

      Now you are protesting?

Ummmm. Perhaps get your facts straight.

Gimmel always abstained from security decisions. They don't claim any knowledge about that topic. They did not vote for or against any peace deals

  7. There is no giyus bunos.
    There is no giyus banim.
What we have is giyus ksafim.

Nothing has changed from the status quo. The only people getting arrested are those yechidim who changed the status quo and stopped registering. For 60 years everyone registered. The Chazon Ish, the Brisker Rav, the Satamar Rav, Rav Isser Zalman, Rav Shach, the Eidah... Everyone registered and got their ptur. Suddenly now there are those trying to change the status quo and have their talmidim NOT register. And these talmidim are now getting arrested, which gives them a great excuse to make another hafganah against something, so that they can collect more money.
Its all about the giyus ksafim.

    1. I wonder who gave you all of that bogus info. and how much they were under the thumbnail of political lackeys playing into the hands of the irreligious... There are presently 5 different organizations dedicated towards helping bochurim who have unwittingly fallen prey to the new trend of cornering the naïve and the weak, and then throwing them into jail and threatening them. Half a year ago - an unassuming mother explained how her organization (dealing with coping families of the targeted) was confronted with the fact that in the past two weeks 36(!) bochurim had gotten stuck in the draft office - after unassumingly SHOWING UP FOR ROUTINE PROCEDURES with unknown complications!
It's time - once and for all - to LIFT YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE SAND!!!

Unwittingly worked while in yeshiva, and were subsequently drafted.
The numbers being bandied around are fake. Here's one. 4700 people lost their status as bnei yeshiva, right? Wrong! Almost 4000 of them lost their status because they received petturim, having reached the age of 24.
In the last three years, about 900 Charedim were refused the dichui. This includes Merkaz HoRav and Har HaMor, yeshivos whose talmidim don't mind going the army. This also includes shababniks etc. 300 per year, of which half didn't end up serving.
Gezeirah?! For this all yeshivos should be risked?!

      Nonsense!

    4. Once more: "Will you comfortable Americans from the other side of the Atlantic finally pull your heads out of the sand?"
You're all BLISSFULLY UNAWARE of the newest developed tactics being employed by the irreligious to prey upon the "young naïve bochurim"! You're virtually CLUELESS to both the pressure and the smooth-talk which has become commonplace today; the TRUE and DETAILED stories of those whom have slipped inadvertently through the process of their deferments; those bochurim presently SITTING IN MILITARY PRISONS for the "crime" of wanting to continue learning in their respective yeshivos. If one or two hot-heads create "fake news" and exaggerated stories - this DOES NOT OBSCURE the simple facts on the ground! Any native chareidi family on THIS SIDE OF THE ATLANTIC who recognizes the upsurge in pressure and red tape deliberately employed against yeshiva bochurim over the past three years can EASILY see the upscale of danger involved in such procedure - as well as the treachery of paid-under-the-table "chareidim" from within.

Oh - and by the way the Israeli army has more supply of soldiers than they need. It's been like this for years; their fight against chareidm is exclusively POLITICALLY MOTIVATED!
15 years ago we all wondered why we must live in constant fear of terror attacks? Beforehand Ehud Barak had wanted to draft yeshiva bochurim. Then, the "second intifada" suddenly broke out - effectively frustrating his plans and seeing him leave office. Afterwards the era of terror commenced in its full horror... Gradually this subsided Boruch Hashem, and then came the economic crisis. After several years this passed; and, now without these diversions the secularists are re-ingesting their own vomit again. Nuff said!

  8. There are 2 legitimate deyos. The big problem is that the law states that unless there is a large quota of chareidi bochurim who voluntarily get drafted , then every bochur will get drafted in 4 years. In the meantime .the quota is not being met. Unless this changes and the quota is met ,in a few years even the mainstream will have no choice but to,fight and protest like the peleg. Right now they are pushing off this problem.

    1. No sir - there is only ONE legitimate de'ah!
I don't know how ling I'm going to have to repeat this statement:
As long as Rav Shach was alive it was well understood to all that any attempt to lure chareidi MKs into "changing" the draft law - any such attempt would have come out dead upon arrival!

      Delete
    2. That is not quite accurate. The law does not say what the quota is, so it is possible the quota will be met by 2020. Also, the defense minister will be able to exempt people even if the quota is not mey. As a frame of reference, until 20 years ago, every exemption of bnei yeshiva was done by an exemption from the DM. There was no actual law giving a dichui to bnei yeshiva. Now there is a law providing for dichui for bnei yeshiva and perhaps in 2020 there will be a need to rely on the DM for a portion of bnei yeshiva. That is why the RY in EY can say with a straight face the matzav is better now. "Yesh hanhaga"

    3. Unlike your dreamy prospects, the situation today is FAR MORE PROBLEMATIC than it was before this "bait and switch" technique was employed, and anybody - religious or secular - will attest to this. "Sheirut leumi" was also passed as "law" and yet no secular legislation has dared to attempt to enforce it since! The Chazon Ish zatza"l made it clear: no capitulation, no capitulation, and no capitulation! Same with Rav Shach! Your "yesh hanhaga" approach is a "religious" rendition of the "yesh atid" party, with similar goals in mind!

  9. We'll worry about it when the time comes. In the meantime, nothing changed yet, so there is no reason to rpotest yet. why are 14 year old bachurim blocking the cars of innocent people trying to get to their babysitter to pick up their kids? Is this what the Brisker Rav or the Satmar Rav would have wanted?!

  10. Who is talking about the hooligans blocking cars. Why are you confusing them with a law abiding Asifa? I am not going to the Asifa but I respect the right of others to be concerned that you can't wait till, its too late to change the law. They feel that the crime should not have been maskim to a law that every body agrees is terrible.

    1. Apathy towards Satmar? But the Satmar rebbe himself had a different shita regarding the "Zionists"! When the Yom Kippur war broke out, the Jewish leaders in America sat down the next day to discuss what they should do to help their brethren. The Satmar rebbe himself had not even broken his fast on motzai Yom Kippur before calling his chassidim on the phone, making sure to send $3,000,000 to Magein David Adom on behalf of the wounded "Zionist" soldiers!

  15. The fact is when peleg disrupts traffic and others beat up soldiers it makes the whole approach look like terrorists and hooligans and unfortunately this influences people's view of the Asifa.

  16. Ak said Lakewood shitah is not to protest. A revision of history first of all his Zaydeh the great Rosh Yeshiva Rav Aharon Zatzal went out and protested many times. HE joined the Satmar Rav in protests. More recently the Lakewood Yeshiva joined protest rallies in Manhattan against the Israeli supreme court, the draft, Internet Asifa etc.
