APP reports-  Ventus Auto Center moved away from Park Avenue about seven months ago, but vacant land doesn't last long in Lakewood and a local developer is now planning to build 20-apartments at the site.

A company called PNPR Homes LLC is asking Lakewood's Zoning Board to allow the company to build a four-story, 20-unit apartment building to replace the vacant auto shop at 930 Park Ave. Read more at APP.com

    1. How do 20 apts add up to 80 cars?

    2. According to the plans submitted to the board (thanks FAA for posting them) there are more than 50 proposed spots. If you calculate 2 per apartment then they are above the number.

  2. That's insane, the fact that they even have the chutzpah to ask for an apt building here.

  3. well if we need to reach a goal of 250,000 residents we will need to build many more such projects! I personaly want to build an apartment building on my lot of a 1/3 acre and then move to Toms river and live of the rent. I hope everthing goes!
THE ESTABLISHMENT HAS A MANDATE! BUILD BABY BUILD!

  4. That portion of Park Avenue roadway is from the most narrow and congested roads in Lakewood. There are already a ton of townhouses & duplexes, plus a large yeshiva in that immediate vicinity. It is beyond insane to even contemplate adding a minimum of another 80 cars and human traffic daily in that area!

  5. This is the VAADS way of compromise. Instead of an 8 story 49 unit apartment, they only want a 4 story 20 unit one. This is another great accomplishment of the VAAD

It won't stop. Because you guys didn't vote. You didn't vote. I don't care if you liked the candidates or not. They would have slowed the building down . That was immediately what was needed.

    1. You are right. We are the majority but our people don't go out to vote. BMG goes and just does what the vaad said to do. There are thousands who have no clue why they're voting or what for but they do it because the vaad said so.

    1. He has his house and soon his shul. He's fine. I guess he doesn't care about the neighborhood. If you don't like it anymore you can move.

  9. Time to get out of Dodge. The writing is on the wall and Lakewood, Toms River, Jackson, and Howell will all be the same overcrowded mess soon enough.

  10. The VAAD message is clear: If you dont like it in Lakewood MOVE OUT TOO Bad on you we are in control we have a mandate. Lakewood is beautiful town you people are complainers and ballei machlokes.

  11. I'm trying to understand why the words you say against the Va'ad is any different that what the antisemites say.
They also say they don't want us in Jackson because of the building and the traffic. Yet we call them antisemites.
And the Nazis also had reasons why they didn't like us. And the Palestinians. Yet we called them antisemites.
Are we any different when we have reasons to dislike the Va'ad and their pro-growth poliies?

    1. Who is the "we" that calls the people in TR and Jackson anti-semites?

Some of them maybe, but the majority most likely just don't want the insanity that is happening in Lakewood to happen next to them.

There is no such opposition to Frum people in out of town communities, I wonder why?

    2. Opposing the vaad makes us Nazis???? You sound like the westgaters who call anyone with a different opinion Nazis!

The opposition is quite simple, on one side you have a community that is frustrated and are just asking for their voices to be heard and on the other side you have a "vaad" who call themselves das Torah, they represent ONLY THEMSELVES AND SPECIAL INTERESTS and they call us the people they CLAIM to represent baalei machlokes and angry people.

And then shanky goes on kol Mevaser saying there's achdus in Lakewood and the oilam listens to das Torah because everyone voted for who I endorsed.

    3. Its one thing asking for voices to be heard. Its another thing to call every body names that border on or exceed mesirah. These comments here have gotten extremely nasty.

    4. How about the names the "vaad" calls the opposition??? They're the das Torah you're proud to listen to?

  12. build. why only 20 units? i think 60 units will suit that area better and your forgetting this is a unique piece of property and people will walk instead of driving.

  13. This is insane that a neighborhood that's maxed out with very few outlets should be given a variance but you never now what greasing a few skids might do for you let's wait and see

  15. This pure chutzpah to even Dream of such a project in an overly congested neighborhood. Let the Vaad build on their block first when they see how beautiful it is then they could share others. We don't hate the Vaad we hate their ideas which they are ruining Lakewood with.

  16. Again fake news. Each apartment does not have 4 cars. There is no 80 cars. Probably an average of 1.5 cars so its 25 to 30 cars. You are entitled to be against it ,but if you need lies and fake news to make your point ,then you will lose your argument.

    1. It's actually safe to assume an average of 2 cars per apartment. There are very few people who only have one car and most of them live in basements. Besides the 40+ cars on a daily basis you need some extra parking for when people have company etc.

    2. I disagree. Apartments are generally newlyweds or a couple of years thereafter. They don't usually have 2 cars. Its also somewhat in town where people can walk to Yeshiva or get rides so its unlikely most will have 2 cars. I think 1.5 is maximum.

    3. Its certainly not 80 cars.

  19. Please create this as a new post

To annon on June 11th sorry I missed this one but here you go
"Opposing the vaad makes us Nazis???? You sound like the westgaters who call anyone with a different opinion Nazis!"
Please do not use the same paint brush to describe the 2000 voters who elected for a change from the status quo to a handful of reshaim, and baalei gaavah (not Nazis- that must be your self-description) in westgate who do not respect anyone besides themselves.
What's super ironic is that you/they are guilty of the exact same thing as the Vaad, and you just do not see it.
    1) Think about it, you portray yourself as if you speak for the the tzibbur while you are only out for your own control and kovod.
    2) You paint anyone who does not want to accept you rov as a baal machlokes.
    3) You use your political connections to further your cause while being rodef anyone who does not agree with you.
    4) You act as if you are part of the 99% and the 1% who disagree with you as just anti-system.
    5) Just like the vaad your true colors have been shown and your game is up, are you still getting your way? yes just like the vaad, but people still see right through you for the true mushcas who you are.

    1. You must have not understood my comment. I didn't call westgaters Nazis, people like you have been doing so for a long time so I was just comparing the two because now people like you say that anyone who opposes the vaad is a Nazi.

I'm not sure which part of my comment makes you think I'm in this for power or kavod, I get neither.

      2) I never called anyone a Baal machlokes.

      3) I don't have political connections and I'm not rodef anyone.

      5) Here we go again with the name calling!

In summary your comment makes little sense and you just sound like an angry confused individual. I have nothing to do with what politics, I don't even live there. All I did was compare people who call others Nazis for silly reasons.

    5. Not sure what makes you think I care what you think of me, I was just stating facts after you put words in my mouth and accused me of saying things I never said.

  20. To the parking mavens, even if their is ONE car for the entire site it's too many. Park Ave. has become a narrow one lane danger zone, but our wise ones believe this is the future of Lakewood. A Metropolis of serfs paying for the agenda of the few
