Controlling the Vote by Controlling The Press

When you want to control the voters, you control the media that feeds them information and silence all opposition. The Vaad strength is most of its base are older people with no accesses to the internet and they rely on mailings, local newspapers and robocals to land lines.
The Vaad wrote the following in its endorsement propaganda:

Individual community members can have legitimate disagreements with some decisions that are made at the community or governmental levels. The Vaad not only respects that, but encourages feedback and dialogue. They constantly re-evaluate and re-calibrate their askanus based on the evolving needs of the community, as expressed to them at the grassroots level.

Has the Vaad allowed feedback and dialogue?
Does calling others as "Unqualified" show respect?

Why than did were several media outlets of the frum community told not to run articles or give a platform to the candidates running for Lakewood township who were not endorsed by the vaad?

A Yated columnist wrote 2 scathing articles (HERE) about the traffic and over development in Lakewood he was summoned by the powers that be and told emphatically no more articles. The 3rd one of the series is still in draft mode.

Matzav.com posted ads for some candidates running for township but the posts were quickly back dated to appear on the second page. Why?

TLS and the Vaad make strange bedfellows, just a few years ago the word VAAD was considered a 4 letter word and was not mentioned. Now, not only is TLS a
mouthpiece for the vaad but no other candidates were allowed to run ads there or explain their position.

The BP in Lakewood also did not run any ads for non Vaad candidates

Give Credit to The Voice of Lakewood and Lakewood Shopper for allowing others to express their position dring te election process and leave it up to Lakewood taxpayers decide who to vote for.

    1. If you really thought that most people were voting for just Sharaby and Travis, then you wouldn't have to keep shouting from the rooftops to stop voting for Hirsch.

  5. I am a senior resident in this wonderful town. And of a different religious faith I respect the Jewish people in fact many are friends of mine. When interacting with some in town, be it children or adults I am impressed with the respect shown towards me, it is highly commendable. I was a bit shocked when I posted a very nice comment on The Lakewood scoop and my comment was moderated.

" Hi Being a senior living in Lakewood for 15+ years mayor coles I thank you for all your great and honorable service for lakewood. However I like the idea of term limits and I will be voting for David Gruman"

I was shocked that my message was moderated(It wasn't posted) I was even more so when I read a post this morning by TLS Editor says:
Opinions are welcomed, as long as they are written in a respectful manner. Hate messages, name calling, and other type of comments which are not within our strict guidelines, are not published.

I will let you be the judge. God Bless

    1. TLS does not represent anyone except his bank account, just like the VAAD. The problem is that it takes time for people who recently moved to Lakewood to realize that.

  6. Well please let your fellow seniors know that the TLS is not the voice of Lakewood. Let them know their voices can be heard along with the majority of orthodox Lakewood on sites like these.
We want the same things as you

  7. Time to shut down the lakewood scoop. I sent out messages to TLS advertisers that because of the lies they put out I avoid patronizing their advertisers. They also ban people from viewing the advertisements by blocking IP addresses. Also they claim to have 11.5k followers on Twitter but it's fake, go look at the followers, they are fake accounts, the only activity on them is that the follow the scoop and a few others (Dan's deals, JM ...) and post comments like "jfhfjdiridio". Everyone should send such messages to their advertisers, we avoid your store because of TLS ads.

i RESPECT EVERYONE'S FREEDOM OF CHOICE, BUT FOR WHATEVER REASON MOST PEOPLE ARE VOTING FOR SHARABY AND TRAVIS. IT IS IMPORTANT NOT TO SPLIT THE VOTE. EVEN 100 VOTES CAN RUIN OUR CHANCES TO SAVE THIS TOWN
