I recognize the passion of Mr. Hish. It is so nice to see a newcomer in Lakewood taking concern for our future.
While I commend him for his interest in local politics, I must once again make it very clear that we do not have the time or the ability to be the object of his passion. His first statement in this article is the exact reason we cannot support him. We do not need someone with a "passion for politics". We need someone that knows all the wrongdoing that has been hurting our town for the last 15 years , who is responsible, and knows how to fix it. Paper streets are no longer an issue. While we definitely should not be vacating any more for any reason, they will not solve the traffic problem. The solutions for saving our town are very simple, but not easy to accomplish. Mr. Hirsh will never be able to accomplish them. He is adept at pointing out small legal issues that have no real overall effect on our town as a whole. His theme of "law and order" is not so simple in a town such as Lakewood. His threats to support the VAAD candidates if he loses, is further proof that his main concern is himself, and his passion for politics. There are many important changes that are needed in our town and he has no idea how to fix them.
We need to get to work, and we don't have time for nitpicking and infighting.

Please, if you are a Democrat or an independent, Vote for
    David Gruman
    Moshe Raitzik
if you Can no longer trust the VAAD
    vote for
    Abraham Sharaby
    Yosef Travis

  2. Every person endorses those that will be good for him personally. The Vaad endorses the current members and their sidekicks, and Harold endorses the members that will carry out his agenda. I am not endorsing anybody as they are all in it for themselves and for those that help them attain their seat. However the fact that neither the Vaad nor Harold are endorsing Aaaron Hirsch makes him a very appetizing candidate.

    1. Amen! And since the VAAD has finally come out with their endorsements today, and HIRSCH is NOT on their list, can we put this ridiculous loshon horah away that he is a VAAD guy? a rumor that HH started.

My agenda always was and is what is best for this town. I was offered many things to keep my mouth shut, A nice downtown, positions of kovod. I always said no. Just do a google search and see what I have been talking about for almost ten years. I didnt oppose a VAAD member making a five story parking garage in the bagel nosh parking lot for my own agenda. I didn't oppose the Bais Horaah illegally building without parking, when a parking lot could have been purchased next door ,and caused businesses to leave, my agenda. I don't oppose the Blue Claws ripping us off, the builders doing as they please, township lawyers misrepresenting the people, my agenda. i also don't want to be the boss of anyone. I guess its just hard for selfish people to fathom that someones agenda could be for everyone, and not for himself.

he told numerous people that he tried getting the VAAD endorsement. Of course he didn't get their endorsement, but he is helping them unwittingly by taking whatever few votes he might get from the right candidates.

    5. There is no Gershon Gold in any Lakewood directory. If you want to get people to have any faith in your comments, trying to deceive them will multiple false aliases is not a very good tactic.

  3. HH, not telling the truth in public, not nice. Hirsch is officially NOT a vaad candidate. Mazal Tov, the truth is out. It would be more helpful in directing your energies at attacking the real evil in town instead of attacking the good people that are sacrificing for the klal.

    1. He never claimed he was. HH said from the beginning that Hirsch was being used to split the opposition vote.

Ok. Mr Hirsh. Thisbis not written by Slomo Klein or shlomo Kanarek. It is written by you .along with almost every other fake name on here. If you want to troll to make yourself look good, be smart about it and just write anonymous. The funny thing is that you accuse others of putting up fake comments while you are quite bust doing it yourself.

  5. Harold, that is untrue. Hirsch never asked the vaad for an endorsement, you are a dishonest. Stop pushing your own agenda, the attacks on Hirsch needs to stop. You have no proof for that Hirsch asked for an endorsement?????? Hirsch showed me the proof that is completely contradictory to your statements? Stop your public outbursts, you are loosing credibility.

  6. I find it disturbing that someone is posting in support of Hirsch with multiple aliases. If you have a point of view you want to get across, then try to do so by the power of your argument, not by trying to create a one person fake "grassroots" movement.

The fact that someone is going through such efforts specifically for Hirsch is disturbing, either it is Hirsch himself, which makes him appear desperate and dishonest, or it is a different individual, which makes you wonder why someone would go through with such deception to help Hirsch, what is in it for them?

The fact is that Hirsch does not have a clear grasp of the problems or solutions. He is new to Lakewood, and doesn't have a full grasp of the damage done to Lakewood, so it is hard to understand why he would want to fight to restore it, or even how he would know what Lakewood should be and was like.

There are other viable alternatives to the Vaad.

I also find it disturbing why the Hirsch "supporter" feel the need to attack HH. I disagree with HH on many issues, with the importance of downtown being one of them, but anyone who wants the over-development to stop, should appreciate what HH has done, and the sacrifice he has made to bring this issue to peoples attention.

    1. Do you know why a couple goes for professional counseling when their marriage is breaking down? Because they need a fresh perspective, and someone to remind them of the good times and where they could grow and what they can become together. IMHO, getting another person on the Township who has sat back and watched what has happened to their city and done nothing until crisis, isn't a good pick for leadership. In fact, most have said they weren't really looking to get into politics at all, the job doesn't really interest them... It's very frustrating.

You can disagree with me anytime Mr. Bagel. You always write on point. Wait maybe I'm you. Maybe you're me. Whatever. You're the best.
      Bagel for mayor!
