Gridlock During Morning Rush in Lakewood

Lakewood Motorists sat for over an hour in traffic due to road closures caused by accidents. Cedarbridge was blocked off and motorists were stuck in a standstill.  The entire road was closed going North on Cedarbridge even though they could have kept 2 lanes open one for each direction to Keep the traffic flow.

  1. There was no reason to shut all the lanes down, The pole did not fall across the roadway. No excuse for these extended road closures when there is room to divert the traffic.

  2. Sat on ridge for 20 minutes. Why wouldn't police come to control 4 way stop signs and to have people move through them quicker, in events as such?

    1. I think just the opposite you see what just 1 road closure does,so if you just do some more road openings it will ease a lot of the traffic... eliminating or slowing building is not the answer, we live in lakewood and we want our kids and grandchildren to live here, so we need to continue building.

    2. There are currently 100,000 people living in Lakewood, I got news for you, there 600,000 to 1 million grandchildren are not going to be living in Lakewood

    3. The developers keep repeating this line about wanting children to live nearby. They can live in Jackson TR or elsewhere. The ones moving to lewd are chasidim from Brooklyn it's an excuse to build high density and line their pockets.

    5. Anonymous 3:50pm so you think Lakewood could support 600,000 residents? Please, how stupid do you think people are. Everyone can see past this children and grandchildren garbage.

  5. its just a preview of future traffic, which we all are excited for because thats the new lakewood that we need. we need to build more so it will lessen the traffic according to my expert planning opinion

  6. MaYOR Lictenstein is police commissioner, he says he's a vaad man first then a police commissioner. The Lakewood residents dissed the vaad, so sit in traffic

  8. A few things that should be done immediately.
1 - Every new development must have two entrances and exits. No dead ends!
2 - All new streets should be wide enough for two cars to pass each other without clipping a mirror.
3 - A car bridge should be built over the lake from Sunset.

What are you smoking? I would love to try some. I can't get the town to get the state to put a left turn painted stripe on the nine by third street which has been a two-way street for over two years now. There have been numerous accidents as people attempt to turn left from the left lane, while some people drive into the middle gap. The fix should not cost more than five dollars worth of paint , and it's two years and still waiting. There will be flying cars before a bridge. Streets can't get widened unfortunately, and the accidents on Madison will only continue as cars drive fast and trucks zoom by within inches of cars waiting in turning lanes. As for new developments.
WE NEED TO STOP BUILDING NEW DEVELOPMENTS . IT'S OVER. THERE IS NO MORE MILKSHAKE. IT'S FINISHED. DEAL WITH IT.

  9. The oilam is simply fed up. Sitting in traffic this morning for close to 2 hours because one road is closed, is absoolutely unacceptable. Not sure how some people's conscience doesn't stop them.
