Where have all the trees gone on Clifton ave?

Where have all the trees gone on clifton?
In an effort to clean up the streets and create a more open, brighter atmosphere in which the stores are more visible, the town has finally decided to cut down the trees that are in front of the stores.
The trees were placed there as saplings and ended up growing out of control, blocking storefronts and street lights. Anyone driving down clifton will now notice a more open feeling and those walking at night will feel much safer. Now that we can actually see the downtown, we can work on some other small fixes that can make a big difference.
Thank you to all the public works individuals that did such an excellent job over the Passover holiday, removing the trees and causing no disruption to businesses or drug dealers.

I hope this will be a new beginning where we see a problem and actually fix it in a timely manner. This small project was first proposed five years ago. Let us hope that the next projects are done in a timely manner with enough forethought so the taxpayers don't have to foot the bill.

  1. I feel so much safer!
Hershel, now that we got this major issue out of the way maybe you can work on fighting for a town square water fountain with benches and tables. Which is something that is on all of our minds.

  5. There was no tree in front of California swirls. Unless you are referring to the one that died seven years ago. It must have been all the toxic yogurt fumes that killed it.
There will be a tree remeberance ceremony for the 16 trees that gave their lives in the service of cleaning up downtown. May their stumps always be a reminder of their sacrifice. Donations to the arbor foundation can be brought to toys for thought(we cannot guarantee delivery of funds) but for every four dollar donation you can receive a (high quality) finger spinner anti stress toy. Great way to pass the time sitting in traffic.
