Residents frustrated with lack of extra Trash Pick up before Pesach

It's an embarrassment to the Lakewood township committee which is predominantly frum to not arrange for an additional garbage pick up erev yomtov instead of making people walk their garbage cans( like a dog )for blocks and blocks.
This is ludicrous any other town or city has additional pick ups erev pesach Lakewood isn't bigger then boro park ,Williamsburg, monsey or Monroe who each service the community with an additional pick up. Perhaps we don't pay enough taxes And this year they're giving out tickets if u dare schlepp it in back of your car Catch 22 gotcha situation.
Unless your one of the VIP citizens who get a personalized xtra pick up erev yomtov. It all boils down to who you know  Like everything else on this town
It's the season to clean house that goes for the township committee as well time for term limits the current boys are way too comfortable!
Get rid of the chometz!

  4. The workers get paid more with the drop off locations. also this year there were not many snow storms less opportunities for overtime

    1. Its not a chometz issue but the overflow of garbage. for some residents the last pick up was Tuesday of Last week there is lots of garbage this week and the Township should run another pick up as is done in many places. Remeber most towns get pick up twice a week. In Lakewood its once weekly.

  9. Lakewood is better get than Boro park, and here's why, Boro park is 30 block by 15 block a few square miles, and dsny has truck and workers from many other districts to cover and extra run in Boro park or wherever. The total Jewish footprint in Brooklyn is less than 15%. In Lakewood it would require an extra run through the entire township. And they don't have the resources or budget to what would amount to double duty for an entire week.

    1. They can definitely do it but there is more overtime to be collected by running 48 All nighters. they can split the extra pick up over two days closer to pesach. The DPW is paying lots of salaries should be very easy to implement a second pick up.
