Meeting in WG erev Pesach to change street to a one way

submitted.
As if people have nothing better to do on Erev Pesach some self appointed askanim are calling for  a meeting tomorrow night in Wetgsate to have North Crest place become a one way street. Majority of the residents were never informed or told about this. Mayor Ray Coles, Avrohom Krawiec of the LSTA and representatives of traffic and safety for Lakewood township will be on hand.
Since September, Buses in Westgate have only gone down Hillside blvd picking up kids at the corners. Financially the companies are able to run more routes with minimizing pick up times. Now as a excuse to change North Crest they are dangling the possibility of having school buses return to North Crest. The truth is the bses have done so in many areas of town, not going down side streets and forcing kids to walk to main avenues and collector Roadways. People have complained for 7 months but nothing was done, all of a suden on Erev Pesach they try ramming this thing through. The rest of Westgate will still be waiting go

  2. When and where is this meeting? I live in WG and have not been informed of it. Changing this street to one way is ridiculous.

  3. Why is it ridiculous? The street is too narrow for two way traffic and busses can't get thru.

    1. Why should people who live on North crest have to drive all the way around. The buses don't come up north crest anyways nothing to do with too narrow for traffic.

      Delete
    2. Parts of hillside are also too narrow! Now what?!

      Delete
    3. The parts of hillside that are too narrow only have people parking on 1 side, while north crest has on both side (even though it's illegal)

      Delete
    4. It's ridiculous because there is enough room for two way traffic if people wouldn't park illegally. Let the police ticket all the illegally parked cars.
It's ridiculous because many people will not follow the law. Everyday I see many cars not stopping for the stop signs. Everyday I see at least one car going the wrong way on other one way streets in WG.
It's ridiculous because how are cars going to go the other way? By going on Klesk? It has no room either because of the illegally parked cars!

    5. I think if there would be solid yellow lines to indicate that it is a two Lane road and white boxed spaces to show where cars can park on one side then people won't be able to park on both sides.

  4. The fact remains that it's too narrow for traffic.

  5. Does this have anything to do with the shul they wanted to build on hillside? What ever happened with that? Are the two sides negotiating?

    1. Nothing to do with it except that it's probably the same "do gooders" and self appointed kavod fressers that are involved. I live in the area of the proposed change and was never consulted. It would make things extremely inconvenient for it to be a one way street.

  6. Baloney, other one way streets in Westgate don't have any buses going thru them. If the lsta is putting buses on North crest they should do the same to all of Westgate.

  7. No buses on N Crest ?

I live on North Crest and buses pass my house all the time

    ReplyDelete
  8. There are cross streets so not sure why it's so inconvenient if It's one way. The benefit of it being one way is it could alleviate the traffic especially during drop off when there are more playgroups there than houses.

  9. So the shul plan is over?

  10. Still no seats for children to daven or for the fathers, No room in shuls. But the control of the WG mafia is slowly diminishing as people now walk to Lutzk and other shuls.

    1. What's the "WG mafia" that you're talking about?

      Delete
    2. Not sure who you're trying to kid here but lutzk caters to a certain crowd and they're not people who normally daven in the main shul. It's a beautiful place but it's a different crowd and a lot of their members probably the majority are not from WG.

    3. Lutzk has many yeshivaleit who live in WG and have no shaychus to BM of WG. Rav JJ Stern Zecher Tzadik Livracha davened and learned in Lutzk so do many chashuvei westgate. THe BM of WG is just another shul thats seats 200+ in a development that has over 5000 Man and children Ka"h. If you want control build a large shul for everyone to have a seat if not let others build and worry about yourself stop looking at yenem.

      Delete
    4. BM of WG was built by the builder not the residents. Nobody denies that there is a need for more shul space, that has nothing to do with why people opposed the shul you're referring to and sorry but it has nothing to do with control either.

      Delete
    5. The opposition to the shul was pure rishus kinah and nekama nothing less. You obviously have no idea what the facts are.

    6. Wow! You really suffer from the ostrich syndrome if you are saying that honestly. Wake up and smell the coffee!

    1. People are going to Jackson for cheap housing not because the developments are a disaster.

  12. People are going to Jackson because they A they want to live in single spaced out homes aka not a devolopment B it's cheaper to buy it there then in Lakewood taxes are less too..there is really no reason to live in Lakewood unless you want to get your kids into schi

  13. To the person who asked that facts should be stated, here goes: (hope you're ready and sitting down!)
The other side of the Ropschitz building was offered by the builder to Bais Medrash of Kelm Woods and a contract was signed. Unfortunately, when Rabbi Zimbal heard of this he went to Rav Malkiel and asked him to forbid Rav Helberg to accept the offer. Rav Malkiel went ahead and told Rav Helberg that he absolutely is not allowed to accept the offer from the builder, beshum oifen nischt. This was AFTER a contract was signed. This caused the builder a major hefsed and also caused a lot of machlokes.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Interesting! Did Rav Malkiel hear both sides?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. depends if Lemberger lets the phone calls through.

  15. Fact is that the builder signed a contract with the BM of westgate that he can put anyone in the shul building. BM of Kemwoods was bursting at the seams and looked to expand the BM of wetgate fought them and stopped the building with no option and kids and fathers not having any place to daven they took up an offer to use a portion of the Building that also houses the BM of westgate. Thats when they ropshitz crowd and Rabbi Zimball Called Rav Malkiel that they cant be together in the same building with Rav Helbergs shul. So not only did they stop the shul with a lawyer and ignore a psak Bais Din they also refused them a place to daven. The result is hundreds of kids dont come to shul shabbos morning because there is just no room.
As an aside Reb Yaakov Yitzchok Stern Z"L wanted to daven at BM of Kelmwooods so he can bring his son who was ready to come daven he inquired but saw there is no room.
Its an Olam Hafuch in Lakewood we are fighting to build shopping malls and fighting against suls from Building. what a kitrug in shamayim this must be.

    1. Not sure what you're trying to say by mentioning R YY Stern it has nothing to do with the issue. You keep mentioning that Rabbi helberg is busting by the seams, NOBODY will stop him from building or expanding, that doesn't mean if you try to build a monstrosity in middle of the street while stepping on everyone around you nobody will stop you. Find a suitable location and build a building that doesn't ignore the neighbors concerns gezunterheit.

      Delete
  16. Your "facts" are talking points. Now some facts: 1) Rabbi Zimbal never called R Malkiel 2)perhaps R Malkiel had a good reason to suggest to rabbi helberg not to go to ropshitz. 3) it was actually rabbi helberg who will cause a huge hefsed to residents who will want the shul since rabbi helberg offered him rent now he'll want money. 4)maybe it would have been a good idea to talk to the people that are currently in the building before signing a contract?

    1. Keep spreading lies. However you are right that ran Zimbabwe never called Ravens Mackie but actually he went to speak to him in person.

    2. Ray Zimbal went personally to speak with Ray Malkiel so he didn't call him but he met in person.

      Delete
    3. Rav Zimbal said that if Rav Helberg doesn't take the other side of the ropschitz building he will be able to build without opposition. He also promised to put out a letter stating this. BOTH have yet to materialize!

  17. There are 300 Mishpachos in WG who daven at kelmwood you think they should all move away and relocate to Jackson??
The property vs hey own is the largest undeveloped parcel in wg. It's time for the wg mob to internalized and come to a realization that they just won't control a development that's one tenth of Lakewood. Who is taking the achy us of children not coming to shul and even men have no where to daven. Again either let them build or let them use another place the way it is now is rishus and midas sdom

    1. You missed the boat again, you can build nobody is stopping you. The opposition wasn't about building it was about where and how big, that building was not suitable for that location. There are other places you can build but you refuse because it's more fun for you to fight and cry wolf.

    2. The opposite tried throwing any excuse to stop the shul first was almana than Mike a than traffic than neighbors than environmental. .it's been exposed straight up for what it is. Pure kinah of nisht far ginen yenem. Since when is it a taaneh that a shul is too big.

    4. If everything is as clean and kosher as you claim it to be, why are people stipulating that they will only give money to Rav Zimbal's maos chittin appeal if they can be promised that the money won't be used to stop a shul from building?

  18. And of course the shabbos hagadol drasha will be about achdus.

    1. Maybe they can create a through street from Westgate to jule to alleviate and divert some of the terrible traffic nightmare that would be caused by Helbergs shul! Is that also why they weren't allowed to take the other half of the building - because it would cause too much traffic?

  24. What came out of the meeting? Is it being one way?

  25. Menashe Miller spoke as his buddy Yossel Slomow who does not even live in Westgate looked on. Menashe Lied that North crest has basements ad therefore we must make it a one way street to accomadate the parking. Local residents were screaming against it but it looks like a done deal. The proponents to change it do not live on the block. Some chutzpah!

    4. Both of them had no business being there. Since when does Menashe Miller give two hoots about what goes on in Westgate?
did he say a word about the safety of children all year long? did he do anything about the dangerous lack of lighting?
did he do anything to help local shuls build?
NO, but his buddy Yosel slomowit who doesnt even live in Westgate asked him to come do a favor so on the backs of the residents Miller pulls another one.
      Shame.

  26. Miller does it again screwing over Lakewood residents he lied about the rent control board and now lies again, Its time to vote him out.

  27. The bus excuse was another lie the private companies Cheder Bnei Torah, Bais Hatorah all drive down North Crest It was only the LSTA who cut out the small streets and forced everyone to the main roads. The ones pushing to change North Crest to a one way did so even before the LSTA was created. Shakranim and mobsters.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Mobsters for suggesting that a street should be one way? I have no personal preference but I don't understand the downside of making it one way.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Neighbors were not contacted about the change
It will inconvenience many of the residents
      Illegal parking should be enforced
Outsiders who dont live on the block are pushing to change it for a one way
The traffic will only be worse as it will divert the cars to Radin and Maplewood

  29. These comments are not worthy of Beni Torah. Calling people mobsters and other disgusting names because you disagree with them is what is tearing out or town apart.

    ReplyDelete
  30. And I assume going against a psak din isn't tearing apart the town?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I love these people who are so holy that they'll condemn name calling, but redifos and sheker they're ok with! Talk about an olam hafuch!!!

  32. What redifos? That's sheker!!!!!!!!
Nobody went against a psak din either, another sheker!!! Any other lies you want to spread?

    ReplyDelete
  33. How can you say that no one went against a psak din? Are you seriously for real????

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yes I am seriously for real;)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hello. We don't know anything about redifos and going against a psak din so we can't say anything about it. We do see terrible names being used here so we say something about it. What is do hard to understand. If we would see redifis in front of us ,yes we would complain that its not befitting of Beni Torah to he roidef people. You are a little interesting for saying that we can not express our pain about the usage of bad names against other Yidden ,because we are not moiche on things we don't know anything about.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Who are you? The Ribono shel Olam Himself - that you know that the name calling is what's tearing our town apart? Maybe it's the people who are fighting the shul who are tearing our town apart? Or maybe the Rabbonim who say they're not getting involved but DO get involved by only hearing one side of the story? Or maybe the self appointed mayors and machers who even after they move out of a place continue to use their connections to stir up trouble?
WE don't know who or what is tearing apart our town!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Or maybe what's tearing the town apart is people like yourself that knock rabbonim and call other choshuve people names based on facts which are subjective at best and alternative facts at worst. All your claims of redifos and ignoring a psak din are included in that category.

      Delete
    2. No its a mafia of mushchasim who ignore psak bais din who hide behind others and fight against a mikdash me'at. Its the shechina looking down and watching how hundreds of boys have no where to daven no seats in shuls only because a few bullies cant fargin yenem should have a nice shul.'
Sinas Chinim pure and simple. Its not the name calling its the actions that was done to stop a shul.
