New rules and regulations at the Lakewood Zoning board

See all rules below courtesy of Take Back Lakewood

-Any witness can be removed from the podium or the room if its of the opinion of the chairman that he is making a mockery of the application.
-Uncalled for interference from members of the public who are not at that point testifying will not be allowed and may result in expulsion from the building.
-Zoning board members shall not utilize  any form of social media while application is pending
-For a use variance an applicant may not automatically table the application in the event there are only 6 members instead of 7. The application should still be heard and applicant can ask board not to vote until absent member hears tape or reviews the transcripts. If there are only 5 members, an applicant for a use variance will have the right to postpone.
- In the event an application is adjourned it will be put on the calendar pursuant to the board secretary's schedule and not of the applicant.
Once the application is completed and the public hearing is finalized, applicant can not request that  it be carried.

  1. The chairman is his sole discretion can decide what is a "mockery" ?? This comes after he is on Youtube video making a mockery of several members of the public!! I'm sensing that this chairman, given his colorful and unprofessional history, will be making arbitrary and capricious discretions.. What a chutzpah!! We the public are entitled to the Zoning board's legal definition of the word "mockery"! This will be just another Count against this Board in future litigation..

  2. What warranted, or necessitated these new rules? What if a board member or the township lawyer make a mockery etc?

  5. Don't worry gentlemen. My envelope offering days are over. I will allow the zoning board to continue to make a mockery of themselves, the way our town gets developed, and of course the people of lakewood, who they were sworn in to protect.

  7. "No zoning board member should speak previously to applicants...." that sounds like a good one..what happens to a case like westgate where they already spoke to the mafia?

    1. You would think you wouldn't need a special rule about member not talking to applicants.......

  8. These rules are obviously to stop the public from pointing out the mockery the board has made recently of quality of life. The approval of the capitol hotel project to name a few

  9. I don't care anymore. You allowed a shul in my cul de sac and ruined my quality of life. I hope your block gets ruined too. Build as much as possible.
    Build baby build.

    1. a shul! In the secular bastion of Lakewood of all places! Heavens to Betsy, your life must be ruined now that those #$%^ Jews are in your neighborhood!
      cry me a river.

    2. Not every shul or Yeshiva belongs in every neighborhood. If they are not servicing the people in that neighborhood, they should not be allowed on a cul-de sac.

Most shuls that build in neighborhoods, work things out with the neighbors.

    3. CUL-DE-SACS should not be built. Consider yourself fortunate to have lived on a quiet cul-de-sac for a period of time... however one day reality comes to hit you. If only you wouldn't have gone to protest back then and put up a fight; maybe today you would be able to daven there yourself. In a very convenient location.

    2. If someone comes into your home and steals from you on a regular basis, then you catch him and call police, do you blame the victim for being divisive?

    3. That was a sarcastic comment but apparently if you disagree with anything in lakewood you are being divisive. To me it sounds more like totalitarian dictatorship who must get their way at all costs

    4. How do these new rules make our votes worthless? I must be missing something
