BDE Rav Yosef Strassfeld Z T''L

Kevurah in Lakewood today after 6 pm
Matzav- It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing today of Rav Yosef Strassfeld zt”l, rosh yeshivah of Yeshiva Ohr Simcha of Englewood, NJ. He was 68 years old.



In his youth, Rav Strassfeld learned at Yeshiva of Philadelphia and became a close talmid of Rav Shmuel Kamenetsky, with whom he maintained a personal kesher for decades.
Rav Srassfeld established Yeshiva Ohr Simcha of Englewood in 1997. He was known for his warmth, dedication, and close relationship with every talmid. He became a lifelong rebbi to the hundreds of bochurim who learned in the yeshiva over the years, many of whom spoke to him on a weekly basis.

Rav Strassfeld built a staff and yeshiva ruach to mirror his magnetic connection to his talmidim and be focused on all areas of their development. he was a unique mechanech and marbitz Torah who was supremely devoted to his talmidim.

His passing has plunged his hundreds of talmidim into mourning.

He is survived by his wife, Chaya, and their children.

The levayah will take place today, Asarah B’Teves, at 3:30 p.m., at Yeshiva Ohr Simcha of Englewood, located at 101 West Forest Avenue in Englewood, NJ, followed by kevurah in Lakewood, NJ, at about 6:30 p.m.
