Website posts all Lakewood Planning and Zoning board applications

First Amendment Activist blog HERE features all current applications in Lakewood sent to the planning and zoning boards. Residents can look up the actual site plans and map details including address location and how many proposed units. The township website lists applications with vague details only block and lot numbers, in many cases leaving out important information the public should know about. In some cases neighbors are not notified of pensding construction plans in their area. In addition to the website there is a youtube channel to see videos of the actual board meetings in the township.

  3. R10A means duplexes on 10k SF (as opposed to R10, the old zoning which only allowed duplexes in an R10 zone if the lot conformed to R12 SF i.e. 12k SF). Basically, it’s “The” zone that corrupted the town. The original concept of duplexes was that if a lot if oversized by 20% in a r10 dense zone, they would allow you to do a duplex. When the smart growth plan was approved and the whole Oak street corridor was going to be rezoned to 10k SF lots, the developers realized that OMG they would only be able to build single houses on the lots!! Hence, by coincidence, the township created a new zone called an R10a which allowed the duplexes in the R10 zone WITHOUT the need for the lots to be oversize.. The rest like they say is history.

    1. Looks like the neighbors who are within 200 feet of the property and need to be sent notice of the meeting.

  7. We can look for complicated solutions to our problems. We can look to fight with developers both large and small. We can cause fighting (machloikes), loss of quality of life and make it harder to raise happy healthy children.
Or we can simply take away all the zoning changes that were made in the last 15 years. The way it stands now, we have angry people and in order to shut up the protesters, our Askonim and committee is throwing the small developers, that are counting on the past permissive attitude,to the wolves, while the big developers continue to kill the town.
We cannot let this happen. Too many people are getting hurt to help a few well connected individuals.
It is time to do for everyone and not just a few.
Come to the meeting December 1st at 7 o'clock. We know how you feel, now show Menashe and Meir that we will no longer stand for this. We want a quick solution. Go back to the old zoning map. Remove the zoning and planning board members that we know are listening to developers and not doing what is best for the people of Lakewood .
