  2. Opposing variances is a waste of time. Some sail through while others are denied regardless of opposition or support. Everybody is shifting the blame on everyone else. We all know who is to blame for the direction lakewood is taking regarding development. The only way to get out of this mess is to return to using the zoning map that was established before Meir,Menashe and a group of developers and Askonim got their hands on it. Entire areas that were meant for open space were rezoned for housing. Areas that allowed single family homes were changed to allow 3 family houses with 3 basement rentals. Campus ordinances allowing schools to build developments. All of those changes brought us where we are today. Sitting in traffic with enough time to sit and worry how we will pay our property tax bill next month.
Our Township committee has enriched themselves on our backs. If they cannot make drastic changes this year they need to be removed. The people are speaking out.

    1. While you have a valid point, every other week the planning and zoning board meet and are continuing to approve variances. Last week was a prime example where a group of Chestnut residents came down and saved themselves from a developer who wanted to build a bunch of townhouses off Chestnut.

If you don't attend the meetings and speak up when there's an application near you then you've missed the one and only opportunity..

    2. It was a hollow victory. The kangaroo court called lakewood zonnig board already gave out the use variance for multi family so as long as it is a conforming multi family it will be approved even though it is not a multi family zone. All that remains to be seen is how many variances they will receive for the actual units.

    3. yeah, keep deflecting blame from your buddy and shifting it to small timers. i wonder what he's giving you to whitewash everything for him.

  3. It is time to start listing all applications by address instead of lot numbers!

  4. Mr Rennert claims that id people in the neighborhood would be against, they would show up. This is just plain stupidity.

Firstly, these get sent via registered mail, that you need to sign for, if you aren't home during the day, you will never get the notice.

Second of all, the notices only give lot and block number, not everyone has time to go to the township office and find out what the streets are.

3rd of all, notices are only given to people within 200 feet, the construction effects people in a much larger radius. As a matter of fact, construction in some parts of town effect everyone, any car added to route 9 or route 88, effects everyone.

Finally, with all the variances being applied for, if someone wanted to show up to oppose, it can become a full time job, especially when they can reschedule for no good reason.

Enough with the games, people aren't that stupid

    1. That was Mr. Nieman who said that.

FYI - you can lookup block and lot numbers here

I agree that the pink slip makes it too complicated. They should be required to also send a regular mailing.

    2. Of course he would say that hes a developer. Having spoken to quite a few of them they all live in this bubble that everyone is in love with all of this over development. Its called negius.

    3. you are correct, my mistake, it was Mr. Neiman. Mr. Rennert actually seems to be one of the better members of the board.

    1. How can a puppet be a puppeteer? Menashe and Meir need to resign. Enough of the games, lies and blaming others for all the ills we now have. Our taxes are going to become even more unbearable.they will blame it on BOE or some other calamity. We now see the truth. Rapid out of control growth is coating us millions more every year.thry caused it and have to either put an immediate stop to it all or leave the committee.
