  1. Mr. BMGlieberman keeps focusing on Route 9. They want us to channel our anger at the State for not widening the 9 and hope that we'll forget that BMG and their appointed committeemen have dropped the ball and ruined our town.

Be mad at the state - it's all their fault! Hah!

  3. Folks, the more duplexes...the more IMPOSSIBLE our infrastructure will ever catch up and Taxes thru the roof as we have to pay for the Developers infrastructure that our leaders approved with 0 insight for the future. Folks,"What's in your pocket" and then ask our leaders "what's in their pockets"? Gaiiva and Greed, the mantra of Lakewood

  5. Tragic comedy, all unrealistic bandaids to the OVER-Building and destruction of Lakewood.Where wiil the 100's of cars park if you eliminate double sided parking? Route 9, A big joke, where were our policos all these years? It will cost BILLIONS to widen Rt. 9

  6. A single left turning signal installed on an existing light costs over 20 thousand dollars, but they are very effective in reducing traffic at busy intersections. If widening route 9 means it will look like the "widened" part of the 9 between the lake and County line, it will only cause more problems. Not a single day goes by without multiple accidents on that stretch of road. All the lanes are too narrow. Cars making a right turn onto the 9 are forced into the left lane or hit the sidewalk. Cars making left turns off of the 9 are always sticking out into the left lane. Who hasnt had a close call with a wide truck on that stretch of road. Now imagine that road on the other side of the lake with all of the strip malls that were built.

There is no easy fix to our traffic woes. But one thing is clear. You dont try to fix a broken faucet with the water running. You dont fix a broken wire with the electricity turned on.
We must stop all large developments immediately with a moratorium. We must go back to a zoning map that has no increases in density in areas that permit housing. We need to identify areas that are fitting for schools other than industrial park or residential areas. We need to focus on commercial/industrial zoning that will increase our tax base and not impact our traffic. A moratorium is only temporary until the new zoning map is adopted. Unfortunately in the past the zoning map was changed according to the needs of developers and other special interests. We need to go back to the map before they got their hands on it through Menashe and Meir. If this is not a state of emergency, I dont want to see what is.
