    1. Yes yes, there was a large turnout of people and lots of tough questions were asked.

Take a look at the zoning Board agenda for this Monday night. Packed with dozens and dozens of downzoning and variances. Crazy stuff!! Unfortunately, without intervention almost all of this stuff gets approved! It's madness!!

  4. If anyone knows the legal answer to the following pls let us know.
Can the township legally stop the dense building which was already approved in the 'oak street corridor'.
If not can they at least put a hold on it till the traffic in the area improves.
Oak street & Vine intersection is already a mess, imagine how the extra hundreds (or thousands) of houses in the area will effect the Route 9 'parking lot', and Spruce St., Washington, Pine, etc. etc.
    What were they thinking?????????

    2. In a 2002 Supreme Court Decision, they upheld the right to impose a 32 month temporary moratorium on approved building.

  5. Put up a site where people (like myself) can donate to fund an attorney to fight for the right to film meetings. Don't think for a second that Mr. Penzers outburst was not premeditated. This was a calculated move, with the townships reply already pre negotiated... They are are play acting a pre written script. This is the Township and their cronies working to bring the approval process back under wraps even while they are giving lip service to the need for less density.

  14. Thank you for all the wonderful calls of support regarding my impromptu speech/meltdown at the Township meeting. Unfortunately I don't think it accomplished much. Menashe probably went home assuming I was talking about Meir and vice versa. Ray Coles and Delia probably assumed I couldn't be talking about them. Akerman knew i wasn't talking about him. I was not planning on speaking but when I saw Menashe miller's fake reaction of surprise to the person that spoke before me,I simply could not take it any more. Here was a guy revealing a scam that has probably happened many times before ,and is probably the reason there is no open space in most developments. It is known that Menashe is complicit in this scam through his friend involved in real estate. Yet he sat there and put on his best pokerface throughout the speech.
I want to thank Take Back Lakewood and First ammendment activist once again for working so hard to put a stop to all this corruption that is hurting our quality of life and destroying businesses. I will be at the zoning board meeting tomorrow night. I may even speak. I may even scream. Pleas join us. Hey, at worst it's a night of free entertainment.

    1. you had a good point about downtown becoming decrepit. two examples: there was a descrepit drug house on the corenr of 4th and Madison that a builder bought before he was thrown into jail, and it sat as an eyesore for a long time. thankfully, it was purchased by a makom torah and now is a beautiful structure. there was an old broken-down hotel on the corner of 7th and madison that was a real eyesore. thankfully, it is now being made into nice apartments.

  19. Should have seen the BMG coffee room this morning, the oilam is fired up at the commitee for what they allowed to happen to this town. The bitul Torah - yes, the bitul torah - when a drive to BMG from South Lakewood used to take 5 minutes & now half hour. Everyone realizes what's happening, and many of the traffic nightmares especially in south Lakewood (oak street corridor) are probably too late to fix. Trying to stop first amendment activist is just going to ignite the fire even more.

It's incredible that some members of our Township Committee & especially our Mayor Miller are GIVING AWAY OPEN SPACE FOR PEANUTS to PRIVATE individuals to further develop already restricted land!!!

The resident which got up to speak at 55:25 brought an actual copy of the Planning Board Agenda proving that our Township Committeemen have submitted a "joint" application together with a local LLC known as Flowing White Milk (which just happens to be owned by Menashe Miller's *very* close friend) to DEVELOP already-designated Open-Space land!!!

The original developer was only able to get his special permission for a Major Variance in order to develop on smaller lots than legally allowed, after promising as an "exchange" a dedication of land to Lakewood Twp and by specifically restricting that entire adjacent lot from further development. Do these Committeeman really think that because several years have passed that now the oilam is a goilem and we all simply forgot?!? If that land could've legally been developed, then the original developer would've done so himself!!

How does this hush-hush plan benefit the town?? Who besides for the private developer will be getting enriched through this scheme?? This is a perfect example of the shenanigans that corrupt people try to pull off.

People are starting to wake up and hire lawyers to fight the garbage that is taking place. I would like to suggest that we make an asifa so more people will be encouraged to participate in a legal defense fund to protect our interests. I know plenty of people that will gladly give 1 or 2 hundred dollars or more towards stopping runaway politicians from exploiting the tzibbur. Perhaps we should all start by helping with the legal bills that this resident along with his neighbors have been forced to undertake because our elected officials are doing nothing to protect us.. Let's keep a close eye on this real estate deal and see what we uncover. To be continued.

  25. Maybe i am crazy but somehow this committee with all the challenges of a community that expanded extremely rapidly, having the yeshiva with the "seder" traffic density, where almost everybody drives to yeshiva, playgroups, schools, multiple times daily, refaced the look of Lakewood with gorgeous and vitality laden neighborhoods instead of a lot of drug and crime based slums. Many of the "shouters" are very happy to have their requests fulfilled where it costs the township money to just shut them up, and the benefit is mostly to their pockets, not the public. I think the mayor and committee members do a lot of good, they are caring and under constraints make a lot of good decisions. I have seen zoning members try to accomodate people with conflicting desires in the best way possible and as peacefully as possible. Let's give them some credit -

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yes, you're crazy. The yeshiva's Seder has absolutely nothing to do with building duplexes and triplexes on single home properties. Or turning a nice park or forest into thousand home developments with no infrastructure to support it. What are you talking about?!

      Delete
    2. Thank you for that well written little piece of propaganda. The fact that you write that the "shouters" are out for the benefit of their own pockets reveals who you are instantly. You have been behind a group of investors that have taken the opportunity to create an unnatural growth in Lakewood and disguise it as a necessity. The slums of lakewood would have been long replaced with nice new housing had all these developments not been built . As a need for more housing grew ,families would have looked to nearby towns to move to. The fact that Menashe and meir have become wealthy off of their positions is a warning sign that all is not well in this town. The fact that there still remains many dilapidated areas in town that feel unsafe while there are numerous developments with no open space is not something to be praised. Menashe and Meir were puppets that were doing a job for a select few power brokers that profited while the residents of lakewood received higher tax bills and a significantly lesser quality of life. Your attempt at trying to paint every person that speaks up about injustice or seeks to rectify a pretty awful situation as "shouters" is a ploy that you have been using for over a decade. It may have worked a few years ago, but it's not going to work any longer. You may have seen zoning members that try to accommodate people with conflicting desires. I have seen zoning members that do things for those they need to do favors for at the expense of the livability of their own town.

    3. Herschel, can you explain why you are always protecting councilman Akerman? Has he done anything to stop/slowdown the shenanigans? I haven't seen him come out with anything that I haven't seen from Menash.

      Delete
    4. I am.not protecting him. He can protect himself. He has been honeat and straightforward. He fought tonsave the town millions and slow down development as best he could against fellow corrupt members. He has had the wool pulled over his eyes a few times ,but i think he no longer trusts anything menashe and meir tell him. He is the best we ever had or possibly will ever have .
