APP reports- "Howell's Republican leaders are calling a press conference today to denounce what they describe as anti-Semitic propaganda being disseminated by the Democrats running for office.
Mayor William Gotto, a Republican, who isn't seeking re-election and whose term will be at the end of the year, said a series of political mailers sent out this week on behalf of Democratic mayoral candidate Theresa Berger and council candidate Joseph Montella targeted the Orthodox community that lives in Lakewood." 2. Thank you Mayor Gotto for being on our side and exposing all the hatred in your town. It is a shame you are not running for re-election, because you would have my vote. You are welcome with my family in Lakewood anytime.

  3. They make it sound like those units are being built for the orthodox, then they complain that the housing will be a strain on their public schools and calls to police. Howell is required to build low income housing. So which one is it? Jews? Or people that use public school and calls to police? These candidates are confused. Yes ,adding housing increases taxes. But when you are required by the state to build a minimum of low income housing, how do you blame the Jews? Blame the Democrats in Trenton. Jews that are moving to Howell are buying or renting homes and not using schools . A win win for Howell.

    1. They probably want to get ahead of it so they don't have to take back Howell like we are trying to "Take back Lakewood." Not fighting Jews but greedy developers that cause so much traffic congestion. Yes children not in public schools though we know very well about the costs of bussing and the problems of our current crisis.

  4. Noted in the above letter "more calls to the police" are not true as there is practically zero burglary assault robbery and violence within the Jewish community in fact if Howell were to become 100% Jewish they probably would not need more than 5 police officers for the Entire Howell Township mostly for administrative and Traffic related issues

  5. So, we don't want our township to become a city makes us antisemitic. Sorry but I don't want to live in a city that is built with so many homes on top of each other that all the needed fire trucks can't get into an area when needsd.

    1. To put Alexander ave and Ford rd on the map is a clear insinuation to keep the orthodox out as many orthodox have moved there already.

  6. Please be aware that any hatred that you see is directed at ORTHODOX JEWS, not Jews in general. In fact, many of the people harboring this hatred are Jews themselves.
This has nothing to do with galus, or ויקוצו מיפני בני ישראל.
This is a natural reaction to the way we treat our neighbors.
We can put our heads in the sand all we want, it won't solve the problem.
