Amudim to host Lakewood event on Abuse

  1. This is a deflection of the other issues going on with the breaking apart of mishpachos in town. Its ironic that Chemed and LCSC are hosting this event. They should focus inward on what the therapists of these agencies have been doing to shalom bayis in Lakewood. How many children were ripped away and alienated from their father because of the involvment of these therapists? how many living yesomim have we created in Lakewood? how many homes broken apart? How many fatheres were falsely accused of abuse and molestation in the context of divorce yet "others" roam freely.
Instead they will now tackle the Abuse issue where every Rebbe and adult male is now a suspect. Very surprised that the Roshei yeshiva are dancing along to this yet ignore the real issues of broken homes and living yesomim in Lakewood.

  2. As always follow the $$. Torah Umesorah got alot of money from a gvir to promote abuse awareness. Amudin is also getting money to promote it. The poor rebbeim are now choshud on molesting brilliant!

  4. Disgusting all this event will do is give more fodder and cheapen the rebbeim and moros in the eyes of the parents and students. I hope they cancel it.

  5. Cut it out. Many perpetrators of child sex abuse are family members. The reactionary stance has not worked, we must strive for prevention. A key preventive tactic is reporting and prosecuting offenders to deter future offenders...

    1. So now every father and mother are molesting their children. This event should be for kids.

    2. Since when does prosecution of one person deter another from doing the crime? These people are sick in the head. Just because someone gets arrested won't stop the other person from doing it.

  7. Amudim has been throwing out statistics blaming suicides of young lives in the frum communities on molestation. There is no proof at all to it. Many of these victims has severe mental issues and other underlying symptoms. The community was there for many of them and despite trying to help not all of them were saved. But the haters have an agenda and that is to blame the system blame the chinchilla and keep on finger pointing and blaming. Sexual abuse is a easy banner to hide behind anyone who questions you or criticizes you is automatically lab led as a defender of molesters. It's an old trick that works very well. Unfortunately our leaders fell into the trap. Hold on tight it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

    1. I have yet to see a statistic from Amudim blaming all the suicides on sexual abuse. Every article and video with Tzvi Glucks name on it says mental illness. He's not blaming it all on sexual abuse. His goal is awareness and intervention. Both are necessities to stop the suicides. Referrals to drug rehab. Rehab for other addictions. Do some research.

  9. Ironically, the person speaking defended a convicted molester and told him to not admit his guilt, because he would never get a shidduch, causing damage to all parties involved. The molester could have gotten much needed therapy. Instead he is serving 15 years in jail because he was thrown under the bus when the cover up was discovered. This is just another smokescreen . The LCSC accuses innocent parents of molestation to gain the upper hand in divorce matters, while serious offenders are never brought to justice. When we don't call police on a verified molester, we are causing a Chillul Hashem. And when we have an event that makes it seem that it is the parents and children that need to avoid molesters instead of removing them from our midst we cause the same Chillul Hashem all over again. 9/11 is a very appropriate date for this event.

  10. This event could have been held 10 years ago the timing is obvious to make certain agencies look good after they have been exposed.

    1. I think, though I may be wrong, that Amudim was going to make this event and the local "agencies" couldn't let an outside organization step on their "territory" without being involved. So in order for Amudim to get their event, the local agencies had to be a "part" of it.

    2. You are indeed very right . that Is exactly how it went down. This is exactly why we need chsssidim in this town . chassidim don't buckle from outside pressures. Kcl will soon be history when the chsssidim finally settle in for good.
