11 girls still not in Elementry school

2 weeks before school starts there is so far 11 girls that are not in any elementary school in Lakewood. This is on top of the issues with some girls that are also not in high school and some boys that are waiting to get into a cheder. Hopefully there wont be a repeat of previous years with kids waiting at home weeks into the school year.

    1. Westgate is very peaceful and quiet now that the maffia heads are all away on vacation or out of town. They would do a big favor by staying away for longer perhaps then shuls can be built and other people can step up and take care of the needs of all residents.

    1. HV is pretty good at reporting on some things.. But with schooling they seem to have an agenda. Which definitely doesnt help any problems.

    2. The AD was a flat out LIE! There kids still not in school confirmed from askanim who are dealing with it. Ask Reb Menashe Frankel about it.

  4. It was all chanifa to 323 after the speech askanim wanted to create a notion as if the lakewood schooling issue has been taken care of.
Facts dont lie. Ask the parents whose kids are still not in school.

  5. So lets hear it from everyone here. What are YOU doing about the situation?

(NOT what do you want and expect other people to do)

  7. If the Vaad cant deliver they should resign and let others take over.

    1. I can guarantee you 100 per cent that all the Vaad and askanim dealing with getting kids into schools would resign in a second and let you take over ,if you can get all kids into school. There's nothing in it for them other than heartache. And in many cases they have to spend or raise money. So by all means ,stop blogging and step up and take care of the problem. Nobody is standing in your way. Just be sure to have a lot of time and money.

    2. Your guarantee is worthless. Numerous attempts were made to remove and replace certain individuals. No one is giving it up so fast.

    3. Hey there is no official jib of getting kids into schools. Anybody that wants to do it can step up to the plate. Nobody can stop you.

  8. Got a question: what is the reason schools in Lakewood give alum I children preferential treatment in admissions?

    1. Its not a lakewood thing its a practice all over where schools will give preference to Alumni.

    2. because that makes perfect sense.
there are much better questions to ask than that. here's one paradox to ponder: why do new schools have such a hard time getting kids (the ones opening this year are far from full), and at the same time kids are not in school?

    3. Experience talking:
While this may not apply to all, some of the problems lie with parents who want their child in only a particular school even though their are schools with space willing to take the child.

    4. If the new schools have room, then there us nobody not in school. If parents don't want a new school they should have taynas why their child wasn't born ten years earlier when there was room in the older schools. New parents. ,non siblings have to go to new schools. If you can get into an old school then good for you ,but you can't demand it when we add 500 to 1000 kisser year into the system. Its blogs like this that make it sound its never the parents fault ,when in most cases it is.

    5. your the only one blaming the parents. The vaad unfortunately places kids into any available slot even if its not a suitable school for that particular child. Until we establish a vaad hachinuch that will look into each individual case you cant have the chutzpah to blame parents who know their child and over a baal habos who looks at it as just another statistic.

    6. Not the only one, I will blame parents as well, maybe not in all cases, but some of the problems are definitely self inflicted

  9. When the vaad hachinuch will support every school financially ,then it will be established. Its a joke to suggest that we have no kehila ,no funding for schools ,nobody takes responsibility for school finances except the school itself ,but you want a vaad to have the right to force schools to take more kids than they can. What a joke.

    1. Rav Shteinman said to make a vaad hachinuch in Lakewood. Its not the vaad hachinuch's job to financially support schools, it shouldn't be up to baal habatim to make chinuch decisions as to which schools the kids should go to and be placed in. If there was a trusted vaad hachinuch than the parents and school owners will all have to agree to their final decisions. The way it is now with a baal habos deciding the chinuch there is absolutely no trust and therefore we are were we are with kids not in school.

  10. By chasidim the kehila pays for the schools so the vaad hakehila decides about acceptance. Its ludicrous to think that some vaad who does nothing for the schools ,should have any power to force things to happen.

    1. exactly. So the current vaad which is run by a few baal habatim should have NO say at all. Placing a girl in a non suitable school is just as putting her on the moon. Parents know what is best for their children, the baal habatim vaad just want to get the problem off their hands and match up students with any empty desk.
