    1. An old joke. A satmar chasid was caught using a Belz mikvah. His friends berated him for it he shrugged them off and said no worries the water there is from before the machlokes.

    2. You got it wrong. The Belzer said he wants to be buried in the Satmar cemetery because Satmarer worms won't eat Belzer fleish.

  2. Watch how the Lakewood L shuttle will service the new Satmar community while neglecting to serve our seniors in Pine River village and other older Lakewood areas and developments. The pandering to outsiders while ignoring our own must stop.

    1. pine river village is just as much outsiders as satmar. it is not an "older lakewood area" they all are from outside lakewood and just moved in when they got old. and they got a sweetheart tax deal a few years ago, and they township allowed them to switch the zoning to build somerset walk when they couldn't find enough fogeys to buy at the time, and the township just blocked a public through street (which existed before prv was built) just to make them happy. please stop with the bellyaching.

    2. NO I will not stop with what you call bellyaching it is not. Have you no busha to talk that way about elterer yidden? Most of the residents there are parents of children who live in Lakewood some are Older Lakewood residents who moved in. The land was designated to sommerset development for senior housing, The residents had nothing to do with the zoning changes. The taxes there are very high and there are no rental incomes from basements. The residents there are zekeinm not all of them can drive they should be first to get bussing and so should a country place. Belz ladies choose not to drive, but Chemed needs patients, so they get the L bus. It all comes down to $$$. Lives dont matter here.

    3. they have children here? so that makes them not "outsiders"? some of the belzers have second cousins here. so they're not outsiders either. (and of course they fought for the zoning changes. maybe you weren't here when that was going on if you don't know about it.)

    4. your attitude is exactly what is killing this town, its reflective of the current establishment running the town. total Chutzpah and disregard of kibud od vaem kavod habriyos and zekeinim. How true are the words of chazal binyan nearim stira
Stop lying and spinning the facts. The one who pushed for the zoning change was somerset development when they couldnt sell more units. The belzers are outsiders with no Lakewood connection who were lured here by askooonim. The lakewood power brokers decided to bypass the entire kehila and give them a route on the L shuttle. Other older developments and areas in Lakewood were left out. The seniors, should be priority one many of them cant drive and a bus service to them is a life saver. But there is no money or kavod involved. A photo op in Belz+ more patients to chemed = more $$$$$$$.

    5. you have no clue what you're talking about and make no sense. the "current establishment running the town" are the ones who built and profited off prv on township land on the taxpayers dime. please learn a little history before writing your nonsense.
and just because you are old does not make you not an "outsider"

    6. Exactly. In your own words you said it yourself. The residents of PRV had nothing to do with profiting they bought was what sold to them. Scream at the developer. Your rage is stopping you from thinking rationally but more so for a total lack of the basics of Yiddishkeit respecting our elders the foundation of mesorah and mitzvos kind av vaem. It nebach bothers you that a parent who has children living here in Lakewood moved in to be close by and cared for.

  4. They didn't block the street they made it one way so to make it less convenient to be used as a shortcut around the traffic on Washington and Pine. You are free to drive down the street, which btw did NOT exist before PRV was developed, any time you want, as long as you're driving the right direction.

  5. The "L" busses run EMPTY all the time!
Who is paying for that & who is raking in because of it?
The biggest scam since Lavan gave Leah instead of Rochel.
Herschel, can you weigh in here, please?

    1. Township got a one time grant for 9 million dollars toward the Lakewood shuttle bus. About 200k comes directly out of the local taxes. The revenue from ads seen on the buses go to the bus company owners. Regarding ridership it was slow in the beginning once they started charging. It has probably picked up now during the summer with teenagers off from school. Once the grant monies run out that's when desicions will be made if it gets to talk funded by...your local tax dollars the argument will be its a necessity and keeps less cars on the road.

  6. First you lie about blocking a public street which the above comment alludes too.
Did it bother you when Shenky blocked a major thoroughfare putting a building smack dab in the middle of Vine street?
Did it bother you when connected individuals block Arlington from opening up to Pine street?
Did it bother you when Mayor Miller refuses to have a conversation about putting up a traffic signal at Pine & MLK?
Did it bother you when the township changes one way streets back n forth in the downtown and other areas confusing and inconveniencing many drivers?
Did it bother you when a DPW official tried to actually block a public road near the DPW campus?
Did it bother you when private way was made a one way between 8th and 7th street?
Did it bother you when the public is left out of decisions that actually impact them such as the smart-growth, master plan, and changes to rt 9 that will turn the town upside down???
The answer is presumably a resounding NO because you are part of the corruption that says "Do as I say not as I do".
