Commiteeman objects to police chief safety concerns to grant permit to allow alchohol at blueclaws rock festival

Objecting to the safety concerns of the Lakewood Police chief Rob Lawson the township committee is pushing to grant a permit that will allow alcohol to be served during the rock festival taking place at Blue claws stadium in October. Committeeman Lichtenstein said if the chief wont sign the permit he will have the LIC approve it according to a report in the Lakewood shopper. The township passed an ordnance restricting the carrying of fire arms and weapons into the stadium because of safety concerns. The chief expressed his reservations fearing violence can breakout during the 2 day concert festival.
Notably these concerts did have violence erupt just this year at events in east Rutherford NJ. The LIC Lakewood Industrial commission, is not an elected body but appointed by the township has control of events at BlueClaws stadium.

Wow,our wise and paid off leaders are setting us up for a nite-mare,on Rosh-Hashana.Booze ,Drugs and Rock n Roll = Overdoses,Stabbings, shootings,,, the list goes on.Remember, one party at Lake Terrace led to a MURDER recently! Why are our leaders bending over backwards to the Blue Claws owners. We receive Pennys on the $$$ in income from the baseball stadium. The lease was done in a BACKROOM, sweetheart deal, the voters know Nothing. Our leaders feel they know it all and the Little people KNOW NOTHING. Thanks for Destroying any Quality of life that's left in Lakewood

    This was the final straw.
Why should Meir Lichtenstein be concerned over allowing alcohol at a private festival that brings no benefit or money to our town. The festival will add over 50 thousand people to our town with thousands of cars and little on site parking due to the size of the festival. It will take place two days before Rosh Hashana and end on our holiest day. The traffic should be horrendous. The city of Clark NJ had asked that the festival not return due to the large mess and hassle for a small return.
Here we have our Committeeman bending over for their permission to have alcohol, even though we make 0 dollars on this deal.
    Why?
    The answer is clear.
Blue claws management calls Bob Singer.
Bob singer calls Menashe and Meir.
They do as he says because their jobs depend on it.
If this is not the last straw I don't know what is.
In and of itself it pales in comparison to all the hurtful shenanigans these two have done. But it just makes it so abundantly clear That menashe and meir do not represent our concerns.
As one community Askan said to me,"I hope these two festivals cause havoc and destruction. I hope everyone will wake up from it and throw these bums out"

And finally Chief Lawson can say what he thinks without fear of reprisals. Congrats Chief for trying to talk some sense into these guys. Your warnings will be remembered.

  6. Omg are you serious? What benefits is the town getting for advocating on behalf of the concert.

Going above the chief of police and overwriting what he says ? Are you joking ?

Give me one sane reason he is pushing for this?

    This is beyond insane.

      comment from the nj.com site

It's the alcohol mostly because it's so widely available and easily accessible. It should not be sold where crowds in excess of say 50 patrons will be. We have too many raging alcoholics who when they start drinking need to start fights with everyone for any reason. For some reason when people start drinking it makes them do crazy things with no regard for anyone's safety. I can tell you that without even being there I can guarantee 100 percent of the spectators were drinking. For some reason going to a concert or football game pretty much guarantees everyone's job is to get drunk. It's gotten really boring so I can't go to concerts anymore without seeing people puking all over and slurring their speech and just being disgusting pigs. Not to mention the smell. I don't understand why alcohol is legal when it causes so many problems and makes people sick and dead. Go to any college campus and they're all raging alcoholics. It's so disgusting....not to mention how many people get poisoned by it, liver problems and most alcy's smoke. What a combo. Sick and sicker. Imo, smoking while driving is just as bad and needs same penalties as cell phone while driving. And I don't understand why cops don't stake out the bars (all of them) and pull over every driver that leaves and gives them a breath Alyzer. Wouldn't that seem prudent or, oh yeah, they're too busy giving people tickets for high level crimes like not wearing seat belts.

ok people of Lakewood. Have we had enough?
two festivals scheduled during the busiest week in Lakewood.people need to shop for food, clothes, toys, books,go to mikva, buy flowers. We dont have time for this. Menashe and Meir should resign. this is the last straw.

  8. Bob Singer et al are on the Payroll of the Blue Claws. Someone should check his Donations ( a matter of Public Record) and they'll find $$$ coming in from the Blue Clawsand their friends. Classic Pay to Play, Singer et al Rake in the Cash and the Taxpayer pays for the massive clean-up for this nite-mare concert. Booze , pills and powder... will create Havoc for Lakewood and alot of cash in a few back pockets. Our leaders are selling us out and Destroying our once beautiful town!!!

I have seen that Menashe received a few thousand from the Blue Claws in donations. At least what was on record and reported(wink wink). Menashe and Meir must go.

  9. Where are the Powerful Vaad members and other so called Askans that FEIGN concern for the welfare of Lakewood. This concert must be stopped, if the greedy owner of the Blue Claws threatens to leave there are plenty of empty baseball stadiums in Jersey. What exactly does the owner give back to the Host town of Lakewood, except maybe hefty Campaign contributions (which can be hidden) from the public eye. Again , a few Greedy and Arrogant people in town sell their souls for a fistful of $$$$

    1. They are busy profiting off the cedarbridge deal and the Blueclaws was a trade off. You wont hear a word.

  10. I think it was payoff for the courtesy busing deal. Nothing is free in life especially in politics

  11. Do your homework how many former and current Vass members directly or indirectly profited from the Cedarbrige Stadium deal. And now the goulable tax payers are once again paying the tab for a stadium that brings no revenue to the township. That is hosting rock festivals the police chief fears will bring violence as happened recently at other NJ concerts. The township police and EMS among other resources will be on hand all at the expense of Lakewood tax payers. Thanks to a few politicians for selling out.

  12. Gee,any comments from the 2nd fl.of BMG on the upcoming Orgy-Fest on Rosh Hashana,or is silence a trade off for a massive ,super high density development in the Baseball property. Don't forget to leave one blade of grass there to show the children. That 2nd floor office is truly an insulated ivory tower OBLIVIOUS to the Traffic Nightmare,High Taxes, ever growing OTD children with very few options,Elite school owners full of themselves... and an Asbury Park Press that hammers Lakewood every day feeding into the HUGE Anti-semitism that surrounds us. Yes you put us on the MAP, but not the one you want (to be the BIGGEST in your face Yeshiva this world has ever known) Enjoy the Lear Jet life while we're wasting countless hours to drive 1 block in Lakewood. Yours truly "the little people" "Gaiva,Gaiva,Gaiva
