Howell, Lakewood, Toms River starbucks to carry Cholov Yisrael in test run

JPupdates-
Starbucks, the biggest coffee-drinks retailer with thousands of chain stores around the world, is testing the addition of Super Kosher (Chalav Yisroel) dairy in 10 stores in New York and New Jersey, and they will use Pride of the Farm Milk, which is certified Cholov Yisroel by STAR-K, in a move to attract Jewish customers. “As part of our commitment to bring our customers food and beverages that are locally relevant, in the neighborhoods where we do business, Starbucks is currently testing the addition of Super Kosher (Cholov Yisroel) dairy in 10 stores in New York and New Jersey.
As a company, we often test products to gather feedback from our customers and partners,” a company spokesperson told JP on Tuesday. “Starbucks is indeed providing Cholov Yisroel in some stores. While we of course don’t certify the store or this program we are aware that Starbucks has decided to be using only CY in those stores as a service,” Rabbi Zvi Holland of STAR-K told JP. The Pride of the Farm Milk brand itself is indeed certified Cholov Yisroel by STAR-K, he said.

The stores that will have Cholov Yisroel will not have Cholov Stam — which is ordinary milk — in order to prevent a mix up, Rabbi Holland said.

Starbucks, in an email, provided the location of the 10 stores where it is testing the kosher-certified milk:

  1. can someone please explain if all or any drinks other than plain coffee are now kosher? what is the status of cleaning utensils with non kosher ingredients in Frappuccinos and non kosher pastries.
none of these questions have been discussed.
I see that many frum people are misled easily into thinking that all items are kosher. please refer to
    kosherstarbucks.com
you will see that many items are not recommended
    all frapuccinos are not kosher
some products contain actual treif such as crushed beetles or weasel glands.so be very careful.
I would highly recommend going to one of the many kosher alternatives to starbucks
    Kava
    French Press
    Bagel Nosh
    etc.
They serve kosher food along with cholov yisroel milk. what a concept

  3. Starbucks Seeking to Attract Cholov Yisroel Consumers
In response to the news that Starbucks is providing liquid Cholov Yisroel milk, half and half, and cream in some stores in New York and New Jersey, and the steady stream of consumer questions regarding this issue, please note the following.
    • Starbucks has approached the STAR-K to advise them as to how to achieve the highest possible level of consumer confidence in this program. Consumers are advised to check back with STAR-K as this process evolves.
    • STAR-K does not certify Starbucks. As to what drinks consumers may feel comfortable drinking please see http://www.star-k.org/articles/kosher-lists/1709/starbucks/ for a detailed list. We are working with Starbucks on expanding this list as much as possible. Check back for updates.
