This one from Politickernj- Those newfound pals of Gov. Chris Christie awoke today to find a regurgitated bill on the Assembly board list: S2049, a so-called private school courtesy busing bill.
"A source speculated that the bill’s sponsors – Assemblyman Sean Kean and Assemblyman David Rible, both Monmouth Republicans – could more easily back the late Transportation Trust Fund (TTF) fix on Monday with the expectation of this bill again seeing daylight today." read more HERE
If they pass the TTF and in turn give money to the schools to manage their own busing, they will be back with khaki pants wearing armies in a few months to take it all back because of some technicality. This is not the way to fix the problem. We need real solutions to our most important issue.How do we educate our Jewish children and pay for the secular education of others as well? This issue is the source of most of the financial problems our community faces as a whole.
ReplyDeleteHH. Its easy to backbench. We all agree that that we need a bigger solution but in the short term that solution is not happening. In the meantime 30,000 need to get to school and can't wait for the big solution in 5 or 10 years. So its only a band aid but for now its this or nothing
ReplyDeleteWhen we keep getting these small favors that are used to benefit a few people, we use up our power to negotiate. We need to get real reliefrelief, not petty prizes thrown at us that we probably won't even receive. Every child deserves an education paid for by our government. It is a right,and every parent should have a choice in what type of education is best for their child. We can no longer survive with large families paying tuitions and living a Jewish lifestyle. Something has to give. This busing bill will make little difference in most people's lives in Lakewood
DeleteWhy are you always negative and critical of everything. A parent of 6 school children living within 2 or 2.5 miles would have yo pay about 4500 for busing. There are many parents that will have to choose between food and busing. Why is that not meaningful to you. Yes we all would like the State to change the formula and fix things. But reality is, that is not happening today
