State officials proposing traffic changes for Route 9 south

Following the traffic studies congestion along route 9 state officials are proposing major traffic changes in the Rt 9 rt 88 Central ave and Cedarbridge area. They want to make Hurley a one way eastbound only between Route 9 and Cedarbridge,  forcing all the Cedarbridge traffic to turn left on to the 88 to access Route 9 North, because their models show that this would improve the Central ave access to the 9 and help the traffic flow there. The plan is to add two left turning lanes to central, make two lanes on 9 NB between central and 88 and longer turning lanes SB to make the left onto Hurley.

  2. @11:07 getting from Central to cedarbridge will b the flow of traffic...it's the other way around Cedarbridge to Central which won't be accessible.. My concern is Cedarbridge to 88 did they ever see the traffic there? It's a disaster with Hurley being opened! And what's with this longer turning Lane on the 9 SB to Hurley since when was that a problem??

I believe this plan is a result of the Franklin development that is being proposed. On the corner of main and cedarbridge . Brought to you by the select few. Lining the pockets of a few already wealthy people, and hurting everyone else. Shame on all of you.

  4. Sound like the usual engineering crap that goes on here. These guys probably don't even live and/or drive in this town, and they come here and switch the roads around like a Lego set.

  6. It doesn't take rocket science to figure out that cars going west on Hurley is not the issue. I have no clue why they would make this change. Does anyone?
