Judge rules Yeshiva Naos Yaakov application to be heard

APP reports "A religious group's application for a Talmudic Academy will be heard again starting April 5, after a federal judge sent it back to the town's Zoning Board. The Rosh Yeshiva is Hagaon Harav Shlomo Feivel Schustal shlita. The report states "Yeshiva Gedola Na’os Yaakov was denied its application for a use variance to renovate an existing school building at 1515 Logan Road and turn it into a Talmudic academy — a 96-student boarding school for advanced Jewish studies. The zoning board voted down the application on Dec. 1 after more than a year of boisterous hearings, including a July 2015 meeting where over 1,000 community members packed the Ocean Township High School auditorium, exceeding the capacity and forcing the board to adjourn."

The Yeshiva is currently in Lakewood. Following the meeting, they "filed a federal lawsuit alleging the township and zoning board violated the First and Fourteenth amendments to the U.S. Constitution, the federal Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act, and the Fair Housing Act". read more at APP.com
