Filling up the L

The Lakewood shuttle launched a  new route to accomodate kiryas Belz in Harmony park. Askanim and officials gathered for a photo op at the ceremonial first run yesterday at 11:30 am. There are other areas in Lakewood that could use the bus service such as seniors and other long established developments. However, to increase ridership, it would make sense to choose Harmony park were the women dont all drive.

    1. Who cares whether they choose not to drive. Bottom line is they could use the service and the service needs riders.

  2. Its not yashrus nor is it halachikly permissable to impose your chumra to inconvience others. The seniors and older developments should have priority.

    2. The L shuttle is from a Got grant and the township is paying over 200k as well.

  3. This L bus also runs on partial government funding but why arent the older developments getting this service before the new ones?

    1. Think logically: harmony park is the furthest south point in Lakewood. When they send a bus all the way down the nine it's servicing all the route 9 developments.

Another point is, if the people from developments want the service let them get involved and get it arranged. Don't just complain that someone else worked out a deal to get the service.

    2. The key work is *wotked out a deal*
You cant wotk out a legitimate deal when others are affected by it. This is precisely thr issue here. Some yechidim went to some local shakers and by passed the rdgular channels to have this done.
Some one needs to uproot these shakers who do back room deals.
