Packed crowd at planning meeting

Update: Bais Horaah gets approved from planning board with some conditions.  Kollel is to park in muster zone area. No spaces are reserved for them exclusively, that would be illegal. Offices upstairs must remove all cubicles. They are only allowed 5 employees. There are no daytime Simchas before 630 pm. There can only be 3 minyanim a day. Can never become a minyan factory.

Huge crowd at The planing board meeting tonight for the Bais Horaah. It was delayed a bit as Officials were worried of overcrowding. As the crowd lessened lawyers began making the usual arguments on behalf of the Bais Horaah. Members of the press were in attendance.

  6. There were no restrictions placed on the number of employees at the banking business. No restriction either on the size of the kollel. However.. No more day-simchas allowed. Those catering affairs will only be permitted after 6:30 PM to show consideration to the retail businesses.

In addition, the town will designate a minimum of 12 spots from the public municipal parking lots for the exclusive use of the kollel bais horaah. There will be no cost to the kollel for these free spots. Any other business or kollel will not be eligible to receive free exclusive parking. This deal is offered exclusively to the kollel bais horaah due to their unique connections.

    4. Basicly whatever was going on in building is now allowed with the condition the kollel doesn't use public parking, and was granted permitted parking which they didn't have before. And a kolle was closed for a month & many people's bar mitzvah & sheva brachos were cancelled because of a few persons paranoid imagination about "all the things going on in the building"

    2. Not true, never was, and never saw an ad for more than 1 shachris and 1 mincha/maariv. I challenge you to produce such an ad. Far from a minyan factory.

Kollel learns there all day where exactly would a minyan factory run?

  8. Question: Why were 2 frum members of the planing board absent from this important special meeting?
Answer: They were attending a late Bris since they banned brissim in the morning across Lakewood.

  9. A board member stated at the hearing that the kollel head should make the students sign a document that they will not take up the municipal lot behind the Clifton ave stores on 4th St. They should also post clear and visible signs that their visitors should not hog up those municipal spots. Does anyone really believe that their rosh kollel will even gives a care to enforce this regulation? Haven't they already "promised" to do this a year ago, but still took advantage & were mekapei'ach the parnassah of the stores?? What is going to change this time?? Is the rosh kollel and building owner going to pay the store-owners back for all their lost revenue, k'dei latzes yedei shamayim??
